Poem: Silence With Dhikr Is Better Than Gossip

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 I don't understand how some people enjoy small talks
Which involve gossiping and people's lives are discussed,
Discussing who got married, proposed, which couples fought,
What one thinks of a celeb, how much one's estate costs,
What degree a person holds, and what cool things you've bought.
~*~
Tell me about our God Allah Who created us.
Share tips on how to be more worthy of Allah's Love.
Speak of the ways you remain patient when life gets tough.
Remind me to have Sabr and Allah is Enough.
Comfort me with Allah's Speech, the Qur'an, and Du'as.
~*~
One sentence from you which causes my faith to go up
Is more special than an hour of gossipy chit-chat.
Time invested on reading Islamic books and facts,
Benefiting from lectures that enlighten our hearts,
And Dhikr, is better than disclosing private thoughts.
~*~
I'm not interested in what's trending and what's not,
What videos went viral, and what fashion styles are hot,
Which items for sale are discounted at nearby shops,
What recipes one knows, restaurants tried, and whatnot.
I want to know how to make it to Jannah above.
~*~
So forgive me when I go quiet as you all laugh,
When I excuse myself from gossip or sinful talk.
My choice to isolate at times does not signal grudge.
Just want you to note there are better things to discuss,
Subjects that inspire, which don't cause rewards to be lost.
