Poem: Enrich Your Soul With Love For Allah And Stay Grateful

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

💌 Note to self, dear Muslim, be grateful for Allah's gifts.

Accept what Allah gave you, don't question what He gives,

Do not compare your exams to other Muslims' tests,

And know that dunya wasn't designed to be perfect.

~•~

It's okay if you have few furnishings and blankets,

With meals that are simple, light and often repeated.

It's fine if you can't buy stuff and clothes which are branded,

Since worldly things will be left behind when we're buried.

~•~

Three outfits are enough if you're blessed with gratitude.

With contentment you can survive with minimal food.

Why stress over designer labels, jewels and shoes,

When in your grave material items won't follow you.

~•~

If ever the spoiled mock you, and call you "sad" or "poor",

Stand firm, not affected, maintain patient attitude,

With a mindset that believes "I'm not wealthy, that's true,

I don't own anything in this world, not even you."

~•~

Alhamdulillah, be thankful for what Allah chose

To grant you, from tools you can use to improve your soul.

Be ready with good deeds for Allah Most Merciful

And strive so Jannatul Ferdaus is our lasting home.

📖 Abu Dharr RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "O Abu Dharr, do you say an abundance of possessions is wealth?" I said "yes." The Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Do you say a lack of possessions is poverty?" I said "yes." The Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam repeated this three times, then he said, "Wealth is in the heart and poverty is in the heart. Whoever is wealthy in his heart will not be harmed no matter what happens in the world. Whoever is poor in his heart will not be satisfied no matter how much he has in the world. Verily, he will only be harmed by the greed of his own soul."
