Poem: Advice To The Heartbroken And Those Who Think They're "Still In Love"

πŸ’ In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
πŸ’Œ Note to those who think they've moved on but "love" still lingers
In their hearts for certain souls who, like magnets, captured
Their attention and who can't be with their admirers:
Embrace the truth. You weren't meant to be together.
~•~
Whether you're both single, or you're both blessed with partners,
Or one is wed to a guy who doesn't deserve her,
Push yourself to move on and detach from each other.
Expect initial distance to taste sour and bitter.
~•~
Have nearly the same stamina as tough weightlifters
Who stick to strict diets and work out to grow stronger,
Or female athletes who aspire to become slimmer,
Avoiding specific foods despite frequent hunger.
~•~
Habitually fast Sunnah fasts to enhance Sabr.
Train yourself to patiently accept Allah's Qadr.
Control your nafs for Allah's sake, obey His Orders,
And know the outcomes of zina should make you shudder.
~•~
Visualize zina as wild dragons emitting fire,
A golden closet inside of which are sharp daggers,
Man-eating sharks eager to swallow naive swimmers,
Or con-artists who trick you with nothing to offer.
~•~
It's shaytan who decorates sin - that cunning trickster,
Who adorns abhorrent acts with fake vows and glitter.
With strong faith and Taqwa, you can conquer his whispers,
Substitute them with thoughts of death, Du'as and Dhikr.
~•~
If after all those battles, your "feelings" still linger,
And you're "still crushing hard" though you don't see each other,
Still be Allah's warrior, earn rewards for your Sabr,
Till you enter Jannah where hearts can never suffer.
