Poem: What's It Like Being A Muslim Introvert

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 Some things you'll relate to if you're a true introvert,
If you lean to introversion as an ambivert,
Or if you're not into labels and you're self-assured
That you don't need many friends to keep you reassured:
~•~
We believe Allah is above, watching us always,
With Angels nearby to record what we do and say,
And with other special Angels sent to supplicate
For us when we mention Allah, learn Islam and pray.
~•~
We also know that surrounding us are some unseen
Creation, beings and slaves of Allah from the jinns,
Many of whom get inspired by our righteous actions,
Hearing us when we're reading the Qur'an and praying.
~•~
Instances when we're "alone" don't make us feel lonesome,
Since we have Allah and there are Angels recording.
Adhkaar, Du'a, and good books are other companions
That bring forth inner peace, rewards and sweet contentment.
~•~
Whether or not we're invited to large gatherings,
We're fine if they forget us or cancel appointments.
We prefer staying in to needless socializing,
And we're selective regarding our interactions.
~•~
When we're "silent", we're saying Dhikr, supplicating,
Contemplating, analyzing, thinking, observing,
Planning and trying to decipher people's doings,
Or we're desisting from blurting lies and rude statements.
~•~
Decision to distance from certain souls doesn't mean
We despise them - no, we're just energy conserving.
As we yearn for Allah and fulfill our life mission,
Solitude with Dear Allah stays calmly addicting.
