Poem: The More We Remember Death Regularly, Dunya's Pleasures Become Less Appealing

πŸ’ In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
πŸ’Œ It feels good, doesn't it? To vividly visualize
What it would be like to kiss your crush whom you admire?
To relish all delightful dishes your taste buds like,
To receive compliments on selfies you post online,
And get back savagely at each person you dislike?
~•~
It's amazing, sensational, brings massive delight
To be able to act on your desires, am I right?
No. It's Allah's rival and our foe who beautifies
The most abhorrent and wicked acts so they're desired
By souls who don't know yet about the truth of this life.
~•~
Zina, same-sex affairs, and flirting just gratify
Those who've forgotten that death can take place anytime.
Major sins, such as gossiping, stealing, telling lies,
Disrespecting one's parents, and bribery entice
Those unaware of their rulings and yearn for long lives.
~•~
When shaytan wants your faith spoiled and helps you fantasize
About kissing someone who can't be your husband/wife,
Or disclosing the secrets of ex-friends you despise,
Or living luxuriously like there's no afterlife,
Realize we're here to serve Allah, not our desires.
~•~
Remind ourselves as often as we can, day and night,
Of our main purpose - to worship Allah the Most Wise,
Who gave us life to pass His tests, to do what is right,
And to try our best to be worthy of Paradise.
Be prepared with good deeds. Death can occur anytime.
