Poem: With Or Without Many Friends, What Matters Is We Still Have Allah's Love

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 What's your concept of a "good friend"? What makes a "true friend"?
One who likes talking to you and checks on you often?
Who gives you free food and takes you out to restaurants,
As if you can't cook or afford your own sustenance?
Or who jokes and gossips with you for entertainment?
~•~
On behalf of introverts who don't have many friends,
And sage thinkers who are cautious with their selection
Of close companions whom they can trust and confide in,
I say it's possible to welcome independence
And thrive without friends, when we befriend Allah our King.
~•~
While some can't survive without social interaction
And a week without chatting brings them restless boredom,
Some of us require solitude to relieve tension,
And we relish solace in frequent Qur'an reading,
Saying Du'a, Dhikr, researching and reflecting.
~•~
There are reasons why we detach from some connections
And why we're disinterested in certain persons,
When we saw their potential to enjoy gossiping,
Detected their lies, confirmed envy and resentment,
Toxic gestures and how they can't teach us anything.
~•~
We're not arrogant - just careful of our well-being.
Aloneness is better than pointless socializing,
One's house is safer than parties full of gossiping,
And restful moments spent with Allah the Most Loving
Are more rewarding than "pretend play" with His servants.

📖 Abu Huraira RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Allah the Almighty said: 'Whoever shows hostility (enmity) to a righteous friend of Mine, I have declared war upon him. My servant does not grow closer to Me with anything more beloved to Me than the obligatory duties that I have imposed upon him. My servant continues to grow closer to Me with extra good works (nawaafil deeds like praying Tahajjud and fasting Sunnah fasts) until I love him. When I love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes, and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask something from Me, I would surely give it to him. Were he to ask Me for refuge, I would surely grant it to him. I do not hesitate to do anything as I hesitate to take the soul of the believer, for he hates death and I hate to disappoint him.'"
