Poem: Love Allah More Than Any Of His Servants So "Unrequited Love" Becomes Manageable

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 Unrequited love - ever felt that feeling before?
When you develop feelings for souls you can't ignore,
Adoring them from afar while you try to ensure
That your attraction for each crush will never unfold?
When you're "in love" with one whom you can't marry nor hold.
~•~
Unrequited love - so deeply felt but don't want shown,
Because you fear that those whom you secretly adore
May freak out and don't want you around them anymore.
You know it's real. You're attracted to them. It's no joke,
Yet you keep it to yourself with a mask that stays on.
~•~
As a Muslim whose goal is to serve Allah, recall
That shaytan, our worst foe, would try his best to enthrall
And urge you to do things that could lead to your downfall.
Catching feelings for those who are not marriageable
Is from shaytan's tricks. Maintain Taqwa. Remain careful.

If the subject of your love is truly lovable,
As they strive to be pious, generous and helpful,
Whilst marrying them is clearly unachievable,
Admit from within you like them but you must move on,
Lower your gaze, pray for them, and uphold self-control.
~•~
When concealing your love for someone unreachable
Provokes sorrow and you're tired of all the mixed signals,
Talk to Allah and pray that He makes this bearable -
A special test to examine if you are truthful,
If you can resist treating people as His equals.
