Poem: Never Compare Your Halal Love Story To Someone Else's Journey

πŸ’ In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
πŸ’Œ A tough lion would focus on attaining its games,
Likely grateful to Allah for the fine mane He gave,
Uninterested in comparing itself to snakes,
Not at all jealous of any snake's hisses and scales,
As no good can be gained when you wish for someone's state.
~•~
Falcons, ravens, and eagles don't fly around each day
Comparing themselves to birds whose beaks are not the same
Nor do they waste their faculties, forgetting their aims,
On wishing they were as big as elephants and whales.
They're blessed with preys and flying skills to appreciate.
~•~
I can't bring myself to envy couples who display
Photos of their wedding, outings, and cutesy playdates,
Because what they're proud of isn't something I want gained,
My halal romance and theirs differ in many ways,
And I thank Allah for my spouse whom He wisely gave.
~•~
When blessings of pious wives and husbands are portrayed,
Such as when they pray together every other day,
Help each other progress as Muslims for Allah's sake,
And remind one another to trust Allah always,
I admire their unity, contentment, and strong faith.
~•~
Consider marriage as a challenge, and win this game
Through maintaining Sabr with Shukr for Allah's sake,
Without being distracted by other players' states.
When shaytan tells you to yearn for someone else's place,
Shush him with "I'm not you. Jealousy isn't my trait.".
