Poem: What It Means To Be "Pretentious" And "Unreal"

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 Five examples to depict what it means to be fake,
Pretentious and inauthentic, a toy for display,
So we ditch lousy pretense, stay real for Allah's sake,
And avoid imitating hypocrites' awful traits,
As Allah sees all, and foul hypocrisy He hates:
~•~
One: If you take selfies at the driver's seat acting
As if you drive but can't, and lack a driver's license.
Two: If you eat simple food at home yet when dining
In fine restaurants, you take photos before eating
And upload them online to upscale reputation.
~•~
Three: If you claim you don't watch films, songs you don't listen,
And you never gossip, to show you're a true Muslim,
When in fact you do them, when no human is watching.
Four: When you give out Eid gifts to specific persons
Not with kindness, but to offend those you're despising.
~•~
Five: When you take pride in your tallness and appearance,
Ignorant of the fact Allah is our God and King,
And you carry yourself with obnoxious arrogance,
Insulting this and that like your own sweat never stinks.
Unless they reform, fake people are good-for-nothing.
~•~
As Muslims, be honest and truthful for Allah's sake.
Willingly change yourself for Allah, not for His slaves,
And don't be influenced by what people do and say.
Pretending to have what you don't isn't a good trait
And it suits the hypocrites whom Allah also hates.

📖 Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "You must be truthful. Verily, truthfulness leads to righteousness and righteousness leads to Paradise. A man continues to be truthful and encourages honesty until he is recorded with Allah as a truthful person. And beware of falsehood. Verily, falsehood leads to wickedness and wickedness leads to the Hellfire. A man continues to tell lies and encourages falsehood until he is recorded with Allah as a liar."

📖 Abdullah Ibn Mas'ud RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "No one who has the weight of a seed (or atom) of arrogance in his heart will enter Paradise." Someone said, "But a man loves to have beautiful clothes and shoes." The Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Verily, Allah is Beautiful and He loves beauty. Arrogance means rejecting the truth and looking down on the people."
In another narration, the Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "No one who has the weight of a seed of faith in his heart will enter Hellfire."
