Poem: Three Common Qualities Of Close Friends, And How To Know If You're Close To Allah The Almighty

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 Three distinctive qualities that your close friends display:
Consistent - With you they frequently communicate.
Persistent - Since they love you truly for Allah's sake,
They're forgiving and don't let quarrels get in the way.
Loyal - They know you well and can defend you always.
~•~
Close friends like talking to you, not just on certain days,
And miss you a lot when for some time you've been away.
In the same way, when you love Allah, you don't just pray
The mandatory prayers but every other day
You pray Sunnah prayers that also strengthen your faith.

Close friends may sometimes argue or make serious mistakes,
But later forgive, as they can't afford lasting hate.
Similarly, when some Islamic rulings you break,
You're filled with guilt, beg Allah to pardon your mistake,
And frequent Istighfaar is a habit you maintain.
~•~
With your style, likes and dislikes, close friends love to acquaint.
When haters diss you, close friends know what to do and say.
Likewise, reading Qur'an keeps you in a tranquil state,
Learning Islam doesn't tire you but rejuvenates,
And you support the truth with the knowledge Allah gave.
~•~
You know you're near Allah when He guides you to His Way,
When He motivates you to do good deeds for His sake,
When He loves to hear your words each time you supplicate,
When He grants difficulties so past sins are erased
And you prefer Jannah, eager to see Allah's Face.

📖 Abu Huraira RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Allah the Almighty said: 'Whoever shows hostility (enmity) to a righteous friend of Mine, I have declared war upon him. My servant does not grow closer to Me with anything more beloved to Me than the obligatory duties that I have imposed upon him. My servant continues to grow closer to Me with extra good works (nawaafil deeds like praying Tahajjud and fasting Sunnah fasts) until I love him. When I love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes, and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask something from Me, I would surely give it to him. Were he to ask Me for refuge, I would surely grant it to him. I do not hesitate to do anything as I hesitate to take the soul of the believer, for he hates death and I hate to disappoint him.'"

Poem: Allah May Not Ask Us About How Much We Enjoyed Life But How We Lived Life To Worship Him

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 Since Allah the Almighty made us to worship Him,
On Judgment Day we won't be asked about worldly things.
About how much we enjoyed life we won't be questioned,
But rather how we lived to worship Allah our King,
And how well we passed Allah's tests in avoiding sins.
~•~
Allah may not ask us about how much we've eaten,
How many cities we have traveled to, how often
We went shopping and filled wardrobes with fancy garments,
But we may be asked about how we earned the income
And how kind we were with the wealth Allah has given.
~•~
Allah may not question us if our education
Led to earning degrees, impressive social standing,
And opportunities to boost one's reputation,
But we may be asked on our intention in learning
And what we did with the knowledge Allah has given.
~•~
Allah may not inquire about how much amusement
And entertainment were gained in chilling with loved ones,
But Allah may ask about intentional actions,
Decisions made, deliberately stated statements,
And if we worked hard to please Allah or His servants.
~•~
Since we won't be asked about material enjoyment,
It makes no sense to stress over what's impermanent.
Awards or credentials won't carry significance
On the Day of Judgment. What can guarantee triumph
Are faith/Imaan, righteous deeds, and sincere intentions.

📖 Ibn Mas'ud RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "The son of Adam (human being) will not be dismissed from his Lord (Allah the Almighty) on the Day of Resurrection until he is asked about five things: his life and how he lived it, his youth and how he used it, his wealth and how he earned it and how he spent it, and how he acted on his knowledge."
