π In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
π Note to ex-friends whom I've left and thought could be trusted:
You can either regret for taking us for granted,
For letting me realize it was all one-sided,
Or you can gladly accept what Allah selected,
That a date has been set when we'd be disconnected.
~•~
I tried my best, to tell you the truth, I truly did,
To keep the friendship before I figured "Forget it".
Quiet efforts to stay in touch were loudly dismissed,
Deep topics to discuss and places we could visit
Were not accomplished, so I had you easily ditched.
~•~
I detested the moments when I would feel anxious
Prior to making attempts at wanting to connect
With somebody who didn't seem communicative.
It felt as though I was lecturing to an object
And uttering each letter never brought benefit.
~•~
So I walked away for Allah's sake, without regret,
From someone who returned my care with clear unkindness.
Clearly your soul and mine don't get each other's language.
Attempting to understand you just creates conflict.
Feel free to walk downhill. Watch me relish self-respect.
~•~
Don't fret. Your secrets are safe with me. I won't gossip.
In fact, I'll do whatever I can with eagerness
To avoid saying your name in private and public.
Safely I assure you that your presence won't be missed.
Choices made to please Allah don't instigate regret.
