💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 Allah the Almighty knows best.
From the actions which do not break or invalidate fasting:
1] Bleeding from the nose or mouth and gums, as long as the blood is not intentionally swallowed.
2] Smelling perfume or food.
3] Using an inhaler.
4] Removing a tooth.
5] Trimming fingernails and toenails.
6] Undergoing a blood test.
7] Using ear drops.
8] Using eye drops.
9] Tasting food while cooking, to check if the dish is tasty enough, as long as one avoids eating and drinking.
10] Telling lies or using inappropriate language. While speaking offensively and lying do not break the fast, the rewards of fasting may decrease.
11] Using toothpaste and mouthwash, as long as one does not intentionally swallow the liquid.
12] Briefly kissing and hugging one's spouse, as long as it does not lead to actual ejaculation or sexual intercourse.
13] Taking a shower or bath, and swimming, as long as one does not purposely drink the water.
14] Cutting and trimming one's hair.
15] Applying henna, ointment, cream and lotion.
16] Putting on cosmetics or make-up.
17] Accidentally vomiting especially due to being overfull does not break one's fast.
🚫 Things that break one's fast, so you must make up for this missed or invalidated fasting next time:
1] Masturbation or touching oneself for sexual pleasure.
2] Sexual intercourse with one's spouse while one is fasting.
3] Deliberately eating and drinking. Licking lollipops and candy can invalidate one's fasting.
4] Cupping / hijaamah.
5] Injection taken as food supplement or for nutrition purpose.
Note: If a person woke up from a sexual or wet dream while fasting, their fast is still valid since humans have no control over the self while sleeping. They must however take the Ghusl bath to purify themselves well before they can pray and recite from the Noble Qur'an.
🔹 Tips to deal with temporary feelings of hunger while fasting:
1] Remind yourself that the main purpose of fasting is to obey Allah's Command to fast in the noble month of Ramadan, to fulfill the five pillars of Islam as a Muslim, and gain Taqwa.
2] Realize that when you're hungry, that's usually how many less fortunate or needy people and refugees worldwide feel. This sensation should motivate you to do more charity and be extra generous when you are capable of being kind.
3] While fasting, avoid watching mukbang videos on YouTube, cooking shows and ASMR video clips of people eating and drinking, as doing so may cause one's hunger and thirst to escalate.
4] Instead of imagining how nice it would be if you didn't have to fast, visualize and envision how wonderful it would be to join those believers who enter Ar-Rayyaan Gate in Jannah Paradise, a special place that is reserved exclusively for those who loved fasting.
5] Acknowledge the benefits of going through difficulties in life with patience and gratitude, recalling that when you encounter trials in dunya
Inn-sha-Allah your sins are being expiated or washed away.
6] When taking Suhoor, stay away from extremely salty food as they can make you feel thirsty easily in the daytime.
7] When feeling thirsty, remember your wish to be among those Muslims who are given the privilege to drink from the Kawthar spring, river or fountain of the beloved Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam.
Good deeds you do
Inn-sha-Allah for Allah's sake can benefit your soul in both worlds no matter how challenging some of them may be.
📖 Abu Huraira RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Whoever fasts the month of Ramadan due to faith and seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven. Whoever stands in prayer during the Night of Decree (Laylatul Qadr) due to faith and seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven."
