Poem: Keep Fighting To Defeat Vile Desires.

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 When you reflect on why you feel certain emotions,
Unwanted feelings of attraction with confusion,
And intrusive thoughts that you like yet find disturbing,
Understand they're whispers from shaytan who's just playing.
~*~
The more you try to move towards Allah Almighty,
The more shaytan tries to invite you to evil deeds
Through tampering with your heart without feeling guilty,
And rendering you weak in logic and piety.
~*~
Whether the subject who brings to your close attention
Captivates you with their enigma or appearance,
Or their shrewdness and shared strength trigger admiration,
Have self-control and be distant for your protection.
~*~
Put a leash around the urge to talk to them daily,
And so your affection won't turn into a frenzy,
Lower your gaze and withhold flirtatious flattery,
Avoid interactions which are unnecessary.
~*~
Keep desires chained lest they lead to a chain reaction.
Let vile fantasies pass by. Refuse to act on them.
Replace waswaas with frequent Du'as/supplications
And Dhikr. Cure your heart with Qur'an recitation.
~*~
I know that avoiding souls you admire ain't easy,
Especially if you come across them frequently
At work, school, social events, or in the same city,
But sacrifice for Allah. Preserve your chastity.
~*~
While it may be tough to forget that special someone,
In choosing your response you have control and freedom.
Thus admit the truth, "Yes I'm in love with this person,
But I'll stay away from zina, since I am Muslim."

📖 Abu Huraira RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Some of the companions came to the Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam and they asked him, “We find within ourselves that which is too grievous to speak of.” The Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, “You have indeed found it so?” They said yes. The Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, “That is sincere faith.”
In another narration, the Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, “That is (a sign of) pure faith.”

Ibn Al-Qayyim said, "Know that passing thoughts are not harmful. Indeed, they are only harmful if they are sought after and engaged. For a thought is like a passerby on the road; if you ignore him, he will depart from you."
