Poem: An Open Letter To Ex-Friends And Those I'm Not Close To Anymore

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

💌 An open letter to those whom I thought I could trust,

Whom I thought were potential friends and now we've lost touch

Due to misunderstandings that caused us to detach,

Or one of us thought the other wasn't "good enough":

~•~

Do I miss you? To be honest, no, and that's a fact.

I feel more free now that we're no longer in contact,

Freed from the worries of witnessing your misconduct,

Your disrespect, your huge pride, your unrequited "love".

~•~

I thought you could be a friend, but you wouldn't give that -

Assurance that you're someone whom I can fully trust,

Who isn't manipulative, selfish, jealous much,

Insecure or low-key envious of what I have.

~•~

You're not an enemy. This is not a long-term grudge.

My distance and avoidance are meant to protect us,

From swapping rumors and gossiping like it's a drug

To concealing truths, faking and wearing two-faced masks.

~•~

Learn from the past and remember Allah is our Judge.

My choice to disconnect doesn't signal your soul's loss.

As strangers I believe we're safer and better off.

Let's strive to earn Jannah where shaytan can't divide us.

Poem: It's Human To Make Mistakes. Be Wise To Learn From Them.

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

💌 It's human to make mistakes. Be wise to learn from them.

It's fine if you found out it was wrong to trust someone.

Take them as a note not to rely on them again.

~•~

Often you're carried away by certain sentiments,

And you overreact or utter clumsy statements.

Instead of scolding yourself with "What was I thinking?",

Be more careful next time. Don't replay that scene again.

~•~

You fell into zina due to weak self-discipline?

Behaved indecently? Enjoyed a sinful moment?

Cheated in exams? Lied on purpose? Stolen something?

Repent and return to Allah the Most Forgiving.

~•~

Betrayed another Muslim? Quarreled with your parents?

Talked badly about a friend though you were "just joking"?

Disrespected some elders? Derided some children?

Repent. Pray to Allah He pardons your ignorance.

~•~

Believe that no human is free from imperfections,

Proneness to forget and exposure to temptation.

Also believe that Allah is the Most Forgiving

Who loves those who do Tawbah and won't lose hope in Him.

Then, the Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam recited this verse, 'Those who, if they behave immorally or wrong themselves, they remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins. Poem: To Socialize And Be Friendly Or Stay In And Self-Preserve?

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

💌 Whether you classify yourself as an introvert,

An extrovert, a homebody, or an ambivert,

You have a right to make choices that preserve yourself,

Shield your welfare and ensure your morals are conserved.

~•~

When invited to a sleepover or gathering,

When wondering if it's best to mingle or stay in,

Choose what brings you closer to Allah and pleases Him,

The option that's far from fitna or more rewarding.

~•~

Shun or minimize socializing with those whose words

Consist of lies, gossip and intentional insults,

Or whose presence makes you feel insecure or ignored,

Or who reject your favors like they're devoid of worth.

~•~

Inform them that your declining their invitation

Isn't meant to offend nor does it prove arrogance.

Qualified to decide cautiously as a Muslim,

Show wisdom in knowing what deserves your attendance.

~•~

Prior to attending events, think of Allah first,

See if going betters you, if it makes your state worse,

And if mixing with a group doesn't lead to remorse.

Nonetheless, tests are less when you're quiet and indoors.

~•~

📖 Abu Huraira RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "There will come tribulations (fitan - plural of fitna/trial) in which the one sitting will be better than the one standing. The one standing will be better than the one walking. The one walking will be better than the one running. Whoever seeks these tribulations will be destroyed by them. Whoever finds a place of shelter or refuge, let him take refuge in it."
