Poem: Five Signs That Someone Who Has Hurt You Doesn't Deserve A Second Chance

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 Not everyone you forgive deserves a second chance.
Sometimes it's safer for you both to grant some distance,
When reconnecting reopens doors to more problems.
Five signs that someone must go, though they've been forgiven,
And they can't be a close friend, but just an acquaintance:
~•~
One: They still treat you with rudeness and indifference.
Each time you tell them something, you catch their eyes rolling,
As though they'd prefer it if you're absent or silent.
Two: Their apology was an act, not genuine.
Don't put up with disrespect, even if they're joking.
~•~
Three: They're the same. In their morals there's no improvement.
They keep doing things which they know you find annoying,
Address you often with nicknames that are demeaning,
Receive your kind favors without properly thanking,
And their love for gossiping toxifies their presence.
~•~
Four: You're not at peace when around them, for some reason,
Fearing they may harshly judge you at any moment,
Betray, or leave you in public with embarrassment.
Five: Friendship with them lacks spiritual joy and substance.
From them you can't learn, and your advice they're not taking.
~•~
Forgive them and maintain good manners, as a Muslim,
As you avoid, for Allah's sake, their bad influence.
When can reconciliation be rightly given?
When they're truly sorry for their faults, not repeating
Past mistakes, and keeping them as friends is a blessing.
