Poem: One Of The Most Important Lessons We Can Learn From Fasting

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 With today being the last Friday of Ramadan,
I remind myself and others, to help understand
That one of the lessons from fasting is: If we can
Avoid what's halal from Fajr till the sun goes down,
We have strength and ability to leave what's haraam.
~•~
If we're able to resist food and drink till Maghreb,
Despite hunger, thirst, and by dishes we're surrounded,
We're capable too of leaving what Allah forbids,
Regardless of frequent moments when we feel tempted.
Fasting strengthens patience needed to pass Allah's tests.
~•~
If for several hours you can ignore your fave dish,
Self-control can also be used when you choose to ditch
And shun for Allah's sake the wrongs He prohibited,
Such as lying, stealing, illicit relationships,
Ribaa, deceit, gossip, and addiction to music.
~•~
That's Taqwa - to fear Allah, do what He commanded,
Desist, as much as we can, from what He prohibits,
And seek Allah's Forgiveness when sins are committed,
Even when obstacles try to keep us distracted.
Fasting reminds us to have Sabr when we're tested.
~•~
Since you can survive not eating for a time period
And not drinking although you may crave a cold beverage,
You have stamina to quit, with patience and courage,
The wrongdoings which Allah warned against and detests.
Do your best for Allah Who guides and loves to forgive.

📖 Abu Qatadah RadhiAllahu anhu narrated that Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu alaihi wa sallam said, "Verily, you will never leave anything for the sake of Allah the Almighty but that Allah will replace it with something better."

📖 Al-Nu’man Ibn Bashir RadhiAllahu anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu alaihi wa sallam said, "Verily, the lawful (halal) is clear and the unlawful (haraam) is clear, and between the two of them are doubtful matters about which many people do not know. Thus, he who avoids the doubtful matters safeguards himself in regard to his religion and his honor, and he who falls into the doubtful (questionable, unclear) matters will fall into the unlawful as the shepherd who pastures near a sanctuary, all but grazing therein. Verily, every king has a sanctum and the sanctum of Allah is His prohibitions. Verily, in the body is a piece of flesh which, if sound, the entire body is sound, and if it is corrupt, the entire body is corrupt. Truly, it is the heart."
