π In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
π Some questions to ask yourself to help in deciding
Whether your friendship with someone is worth maintaining,
So your love isn't wasted, they can quit pretending,
And you reserve your kindness for those more deserving
Of your care, attention, patience, and supplications:
~•~
Are they ungrateful? Do they act like they've forgotten
All those moments when you tried to be helpful to them?
Have you known their names for more than five years yet something
Tells you they're toxic, from them you can't learn anything,
And you're better off without their disturbing presence?
~•~
Are their answers to your messages delayed often
Not because they're working but due to narcissism,
To keep you waiting, as though your life depends on them?
Are their manners ugly? Do they scowl and stay silent
Usually when you greet them to soothe their self-loathing?
~•~
Are they shy when you're around yet when you start walking,
They discuss you and indulge in lousy backbiting?
Do they answer your queries with vague and curt statements,
As though your goals and confidence intimidate them?
Does your faith/Imaan clash with their lies and bad acting?
~•~
Do they distract you from Allah? Each time they're present,
Do you doubt yourself or notice your moods worsening?
If you responded with 'yes' to the above questions
And this wrong "friend" acts like a spy for your opponents,
Avoid them for Allah. Allah's Love is sufficient.
