Hadith: Seek Refuge With Allah From The Grave's Torment

📖 Al-Baraa’ reported: Regarding the saying of Allah the Almighty, “Allah will keep firm those who had faith in the firm word, in the worldly life and in the Hereafter,” (Qur'an 14:27), the Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, “It is in the grave when it is said to him: 'Who is your Rabb (Lord Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala)? What is your religion? Who is your Prophet?'"

📖 Asma bint Abi Bakr RadhiAllahu 'anha narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, “It has been revealed to me that you will be put to trial in the grave, similar to the trial of the false messiah (dajjaal). As for the believer or Muslim, he will say: 'The Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam came to us with clear evidence and we answered him and believed in him.' It will be said: 'Sleep in peace, for we knew you had conviction.' As for the hypocrite or the doubter, he will say: 'I do not know, for I heard people saying something and I repeated it.'”

The Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam stood over them and we stood with him. The color of his face changed until it was white like the sleeve of his shirt. We said, “What is wrong, O Prophet of Allah?” The Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, “You cannot hear what I hear.” We said, “What is that, O Prophet of Allah?” The Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, “These two men are being severely punished in their graves for a trivial matter.” We said, “What is that, O Prophet of Allah?” The Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, “One of them did not take care to keep his garments clean of urine. The other harmed people with his tongue, carrying gossip between them.”

Note: Ways To Answer Someone Who Calls You "Ugly"

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 Ways to answer someone who calls you "ugly", "pangit" or "not pretty":
1] Confidently respond with a clever comeback e.g. "I never hired you to be my personal assistant. Please do your job of being judgmental somewhere else.", "Congratulations. I see you learned a new word. Is 'ugly' relevant to your upbringing or personality?", or "Sorry, but I'm not a mirror. You can try checking your reflection with that glass or cellphone screen and confirm your "ugliness" there.'
2] Ask a rhetorical question so they realize their ignorance or idiocy e.g. "Have you heard about the story of Julaybib RadhiAllahu 'anhu and how the Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam cared about him in spite of his appearance?", "Do you get rich every time you say the word 'ugly' or are you saying that only because you have awfully low self-esteem?", "'Ugly'? Is that your nickname? Should I call you that from now on?", "No matter how many times you claim I'm 'ugly', my face is still prettier than your poop.", "And? What do you gain from being rude? Are you incredibly insecure that you're desperate to bring others down to feel better about yourself?", "Spell 'ugly'? U-g-l-y. Did you sign me up for a spelling bee or you wanted me to spell an adjective that describes your personality?", or "No, I don't sell 'uglies' here. My apologies."
3] Try to patiently walk away from the disrespectful person without saying anything. Distance yourself from toxic individuals who are in denial of their own flaws and imperfections.
Difficult people can be blessings in disguise when avoiding them is good training to stay away from sins, while your level of patience goes up so
Inn-sha-Allah you're among those worthy of Jannah Paradise.

Note: Understanding Gender Roles

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 If a woman doesn't enjoy wearing makeup and she hates the color pink, would that make her manly? Would girls who excel at sports while they can lift heavy objects be guilty of being too masculine? What about guys who aren't athletic, instead of playing basketball or knowing martial arts they prefer to stay indoors either helping around the house with their wives or reading books? If a guy is generally soft-spoken and gentle, would he be considered "effeminate"?
'Uthman ibn 'Affaan RadhiAllahu 'anhu was known for his modest and soft kind of personality yet he was a courageous leader who, with Allah's Will, had an important role in preserving the copies of the Noble Qur'an.
Nusaybah bint Ka'b RadhiAllahu 'anha displayed admirable courage when she fiercely defended the Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam during the battle of Uhud, and yet she didn't lose her feminine instincts in being a loving mother and wife.
It is possible for males to still be men even if they don't demonstrate traits that are typically macho, and for females to maintain their femininity even if they aren't as girlish as stereotypical "high-maintenance ladies". That is on condition they don't purposely do something or refrain from certain things in order to imitate the opposite gender.
🔸 There are three ways to copy the opposite gender:
1] By wearing the outfits, styles and garments which are exclusively appropriate for their gender.
Example: When a man wears jewelry, a bra and mini-skirt, or when a woman cuts her hair really short, wearing a baggy t-shirt and jeans so it's hard to tell if she's female or not from a distance.
2] By deliberately following the behavior and mannerisms which are more suitable for the opposite gender.
Example: When a man rhythmically walks in a ladylike fashion, and when a boyish female sits slouching or with her legs spread apart in a way that is characteristic of most men's sitting position.
3] By intentionally doing the work or actions that are commonly expected from the opposite gender, until they forget the value of their own identity.
Example: When a guy chooses to pray at home because he's too shy to pray in the Masjid or he works as a beautician in a beauty parlor. Or when a woman is employed as a construction worker, while going to the gym on a daily basis, so her body is more muscular than that of her male relatives.
🔸 Real men in Islam vs. girly males:
1] Real men understand their duties and responsibilities to care for their womenfolk. Girly males always expect to be looked after by women, as if they're babies.
2] Real men let their beards grow. Girly males regularly shave their beards and take pride in having chins that are as smooth as a baby's bottom.
3] Real men strive to obey the beloved Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam, especially in not wearing gold and silk. Girly males fancy seeing themselves looking "fab" in silky robes, nail polish and gold accessories.
4] Real men are not overly emotional types. They're capable of maintaining patience with others, particularly with their wives. Girly males usually quarrel and argue with women. They habitually gossip, spread rumors and backbite.
5] A real man is naturally attracted to a female and he knows when to lower his gaze. A girly boy allows his eyes to wander around and he stares at women comfortably as if he is one of them.
🔸 Real women in Islam vs. mannish females:
1] Real women honor the special roles which Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala chose for them. They're not ones to insist they have a superior status than men nor do they believe it's okay to disrespect the husband anytime.
Mannish females behave as if they're entitled to scornfully overpower men whenever they like.
2] Real women wear the proper hijab for Allah's sake, valuing modesty and respecting Allah's Laws. Mannish females assume it's fine to go against what they've been commanded, letting their hair show like men do and to be more "liberal".
3] Real women don't go out excessively and they speak up only when necessary. Mannish females love competing with men and proving they have the abilities to do the exact same activities as they can.
4] Real women try their best to be dutiful, caring and respectful wives. Mannish females either completely disbelieve in the significance of marriage or they incorrectly think it's acceptable to neglect the husband whenever they desire.
5] A real woman is naturally attracted to a male and she knows when to lower her gaze. A mannish female checks out other women, staring at them intensely up and down like she's one of the boys. When around non-mahram males too, a mannish female doesn't control her gaze, because she forgot her identity as a striving Muslimah who for Allah's sake values modesty.
📖 Ibn 'Abbas RadhiAllahu 'anhuma narrated: "The Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam cursed men who imitate women and women who imitate men."
In another narration, Ibn 'Abbas RadhiAllahu 'anhuma said: "The Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam cursed men who copy women and women who copy men.'

Hadith: On Contentment And Avoiding Materialism

📖 Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Some people from the Ansaar asked the Messenger of Allah SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam and he gave them. Then they asked for charity again and he SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam gave them. Then they asked again and he SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam gave them until all he had was gone. The Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "If I had anything, I would not withhold it. Whoever refrains from asking others, then Allah will make him contented. Whoever would be independent, then Allah will make him independent. Whoever would be patient, then Allah will make him patient. There is no gift that is better and more comprehensive than patience."

The Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Do you say a lack of possessions is poverty?" I said 'yes'. The Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam repeated this three times, then he SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Wealth is in the heart and poverty is in the heart. Whoever is wealthy in his heart will not be harmed no matter what happens in the world. Whoever is impoverished in his heart will not be satisfied no matter how much he has in the world. Verily, he will only be harmed by the greed of his own soul."
