Poem: Don't Cry Over Ex-Friends Whose Friendships Weren't Destined.

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 Not all friends from high school or college remain in touch,
Despite how close we used to be and fun times we've had.
In the end, some of us part ways when some things get rough,
When the bond weakens, or when both choose different paths.
~*~
After all the times we chilled and enjoyed countless chats,
In spite of how they frequently made us smile and laugh,
It's bittersweet to note they're no longer by us loved,
Sensing mixed emotions each time we'd try to look back.
~*~
I recall how some of them and I wore bandanas,
Gave friendship bracelets thinking our gang would always last,
Teen magazines we exchanged, and DVDs we swapped,
Sports and group games we played, and funny jokes we laughed at.
~*~
Sad how some of us thought as adults we won't detach,
Yet as many years went by, most of us lost contact.
While some of them aren't found on Facebook, others lack
The interest to reconnect due to their own facts.
~*~
What often cause potential friendships to tear apart
Include: One-sided affinity, envy, mistrust,
Deceit, and one or both sides being jealous, biased,
Negligent, dishonest, or excessively attached.
~*~
Temporary friends teach permanent lessons - a fact
To remember when broken hearts feel like giving up.
Ex-friends taught me, with delight, Allah's Love is enough,
And Allah is the Only One we can truly trust.
~*~
So as days and nights go by, as I strive to stay tough
While relying on Allah, saying Dhikr/Du'as,
And patiently accepting Qadr, I know the past
Was decreed by Allah and His Love is just enough.
~*~

📖 Abu Huraira RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Love whom you love moderately, perhaps he will become hateful to you someday. Hate whom you hate moderately, perhaps he will become your beloved friend someday."

Poem: Something Ex-Friends Have Taught Me

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 Woke up from a vivid dream, wondering what it meant,
A vision full of significant signs and portents,
Eager to talk about it with a special someone
Only to recall they've become another ex-friend.
~*~
Each day would pass by filled with memorable events,
Educational moments, noteworthy incidents,
And tales worth telling yet most of them remain hidden,
Undisclosed due to the disappearance of close friends.
~*~
While I could discuss my dreams, fluctuating feelings,
Observations and elucidations with certain
Companions, I've learned to stay contented and patient,
Keeping most of them to myself with trained self-restraint.
~*~
Though retaining these thoughts and bottled up emotions
Isn't easy, especially when they're disturbing,
I release them through tears and Du'as/supplications.
Allah the Almighty grants me love, peace and freedom.
~*~
Former friends are but extra life lessons which strengthen
My faith/Imaan, and they remind me to just depend,
Trust, and rely on none except Allah Al-'Atheem,
Who never left ever since I came to existence.

Hadith: Have A Heart Free From Long-Term Grudge And Envy.

📖 Anas Ibn Malik RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam and he said, “Coming upon you now is a man from the people of Paradise.” A man from the Ansar came whose beard was disheveled by the water of ablution and he was carrying both of his shoes with his left hand. The next day the Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam repeated the same words, and the man came in the same condition. The third day the Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam repeated the same again, and the man came in the same condition. When the Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam stood up to leave, Abdullah ibn Amr followed the man and he said, “I am in a dispute with my father and I have sworn not to enter my home for three days. May I stay with you?” The man said yes. Abdullah stayed three nights with the man but he never saw him praying at night. Whenever he went to bed, he would remember Allah and rest until he woke up for morning prayer. Abdullah said that he never heard anything but good words from his mouth. When three nights had passed and he did not see anything special about his actions, Abdullah asked him, “O servant of Allah, I have not been in dispute with my father nor have I cut relations with him. I heard the Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam say three times that a man from the people of Paradise was coming to us and then you came. I thought I should stay with you to see what you are doing so that I should follow, but I did not see you do anything special. Why did the Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam speak so highly of you?” The man said, “I am as you have seen.” When Abdullah was about to leave, the man said, “I am as you have seen, except that I do not find hatred in my soul towards the Muslims and I do not envy anyone because of the good that Allah has given them.” Abdullah said, “This is what you have achieved and it is something we have not accomplished.”

What is a heart swept clean?” The Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, “One that is mindful of Allah and pure, in which there is no sin, nor aggression, nor envy.” We said, “Who shows a sign of it?” The Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, “One who hates worldliness and loves the Hereafter.” They said, “And who shows a sign of it?” The Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, “A believer with good character.”

Poem: Avoiding The Wrong Kind Of Friendships

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 Part of progressing in life as you run to Allah
Is terminating contact with those who cause fitna,
Whose love for sinful talks like gheeba and nameema
Simply distract you from journeying towards Jannah.
~*~
A friend isn't toxic if they want you to improve
As a Muslim, to rise in patience and gratitude,
If they help you do good deeds with cheerful attitude,
Or include you in their daily Du'as and Sujood.
~*~
What makes someone 'toxic' worthy of being removed
From your group of close comrades who shouldn't be eschewed
Is their tendency to gossip, tell lies, or act rude,
Or they constantly envy you as they're insecure.
~*~
True friends wouldn't get jealous of your accomplishments,
Abilities and special roles that Allah destined.
Toxic friends, in contrast, see you as competition,
Jealously threatened by your faith/Imaan and presence.
~*~
Toxic friends typically exclude you from outings,
Inviting faces you've seen while you're an exception,
Treating you with rude and passive-aggressive treatment -
You're better off without them and their vile influence.
~*~
If some can't inspire you to be a better Muslim,
And talking to them is fruitless and earns people's sins,
Their distance or avoidance is an actual blessing,
A chance for more Dhikr, Du'as and Qur'an reading.
~*~
Know when Allah loves you, He may cause some souls to leave,
To shield you from their toxicity and evil deeds,
And replace the spots they left with increased piety,
Elevated Sabr and augmented self-esteem.
~*~

📖 Abu Umamah RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, “Whoever loves for the sake of Allah, hates for the sake of Allah, gives for the sake of Allah, and withholds for the sake of Allah has perfected the faith.”

Poem: People Come And Go, Don't Get Attached.

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 Allah the Most Wise already chose special people
Who are meant to befriend us and enter our circle,
Regardless of where they live, and despite obstacles,
Their life goals align with ours, and they remain loyal.
~*~
Other souls, on the other hand, in spite of knowing
Their names for many years can't form mutual affection.
After all unpleasant meetings, misunderstandings,
And silent moments come detachment and estrangement.
~*~
What may cause potential friends to drift apart include:
Envy from one side or both, being selfish or rude,
Not properly communicating, ingratitude,
Suspicion, refusing to forgive or settle feuds.
~*~
When the friend you used to chat with nearly every week
Becomes a complete stranger whom you dislike to meet,
And when ex-friends pass by not to chill but briefly greet,
Smile; you still have Allah the One Whom you truly need.
~*~
People's rejection and distance should simply inspire
You to run to Allah more as your faith grows stronger,
Recalling that even if the entire world gathered
To abandon you, Allah won't leave; He's always there.
~*~
So do not bother crying over broken friendships.
If Allah the Most Wise saw goodness in those who left,
He would've let them stay, and you wouldn't get upset.
Knowing Allah knows what's best for us keeps us at rest.
~*~
Accept Allah's Qadr. Know that dunya is fleeting,
People come and go. This world's joys aren't permanent.
Don't be attached to fellow servants, but keep striving
And serving Allah until your soul returns to Him.

Poem: Why We Can't Vibe With Some Souls

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 It's strange how often we meet some souls for the first time,
And instantly we click, we're attracted to their vibes,
Comfortable around them, almost similar minds,
No jealousy, no reasons for them to be disliked.
~*~
In contrast, we encounter other souls we can't like,
Strangers whose conflicting values cause us to deride
Or feel uncomfortable when they are just nearby,
Afraid of approaching them, fearing they'll criticize.
~*~
Without a doubt, if we're truthful, we tend to hate lies;
If we're honest, we can't befriend those who love to lie.
If we detest gossip, we despise those who backbite.
If we're assured, we abhor those insecure inside.
~*~
If you're among the few, in the place where you reside,
Who are smart, who strive to be pious, who know what's right,
Who display many talents which attract jealous eyes,
And you feel like 'the black sheep', tell yourself "You'll be fine,
~*~
So long as you live life to please Allah the Most High,
And Jannatul Ferdaus is one prize you so desire,
It doesn't matter if by everyone you're not liked.
You're here to serve Allah, not make your worth recognized."
~*~
Note: Prophet Jesus' mother Maryam, in her lifetime,
Was hated by most, yet she's destined for Paradise.
Nuh 'alaihis salaam was made fun of and belied,
Yet he's one of Allah's Prophets and loyal allies.
~*~
While we do our best to be kind to all and survive,
We'll keep doing what Allah loves, not to be admired
By fellow servants with their own flaws, struggles and vice,
Until we reach Jannah, where all good souls reunite.
~*~

📖 Anas Ibn Malik RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: A bedouin asked the Messenger of Allah SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam, “When is the Hour (The Day of Judgment)?” The Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, “What have you prepared for it?” The man said, “Love for Allah and his Messenger (SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam).” The Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, “You will be with those whom you love.”

Poem: Strong Connection With Allah Protects Us From Heartbreaks.

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 Your heart is that special body part which Allah gave,
Specially designed to love Him more than any slave.
It's at peace when it holds high levels of Imaan/Faith.
When hearts love other souls far too much, they're bound to break.
~*~

Heartbreaks can be felt by those whose love is one-sided.
They adore someone from afar, single or married,
Yet their feelings, no matter how strong, go unnoticed -
How they feel so deeply isn't reciprocated.
~*~
Often the emotions of heartbroken souls get worse
When they won't accept the destiny which Allah chose,
Decreeing that the one they love married someone else,
Or they're the same gender, so there's no way to be close.
~*~
It's possible to experience heartbreak when married,
When your husband to your co-wife seems more romantic,
Or when your friend's husband has traits that are attractive,
While you strive to love the one whom Allah selected.
~*~
Another form of heartbreak is when two are in love,
Though both can't marry each other when matters are tough,
When the guy can't afford, or he lacks the "perfect job",
Or the girl's fam planned her wedding and they can't be stopped.
~*~
To those who know what having a broken heart is like,
Remind yourselves that everything in this worldly life
From joys to tests are temporal. Prefer Paradise,
Where hearts aren't shattered, and your eyes don't need to cry.
~*~
Mend your broken heart by yearning only for Allah.
When feeling empty, fill up the void with some Du'as,
More Dhikr, Qur'an reading, and praying more Sunnahs,
Until you completely rest with Allah in Jannah.
~*~

📖 An-Nu’man Ibn Bashir RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Verily, the lawful is clear and the unlawful is clear, and between the two of them are doubtful matters about which many people do not know. Thus, he who avoids doubtful matters clears himself in regard to his religion and his honor, and he who falls into doubtful matters will fall into the unlawful as the shepherd who pastures near a sanctuary, all but grazing therein. Verily, every king has a sanctum and the sanctum of Allah is His prohibitions. Verily, in the body is a piece of flesh which, if sound, the entire body is sound, and if corrupt, the entire body is corrupt. Truly, it is the heart."

Poem: Gain Inner Strength From Loving Allah.

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 She gains her strength from trusting Allah the Almighty,
Focused on wanting to please no one but Him Only,
Unfazed if she's unpopular to society,
And unafraid if some play mind games out of envy.
~*~

When uninvited from meetings deliberately
Or when overlooked, or treated disrespectfully,
She embraces patience, not guilt nor melancholy,

Not hurt by haters who got no role in her story.
~*~
She knows that valuable treasures can be so costly,
And those who can't afford them reject such jewelry.
So she expects to intimidate the insincere,
Since she defends what's real and loves to speak truthfully.
~*~
Her energy doesn't match those who do things slowly
When being swift and eager become necessary.
Her confidence frightens those with insecurities,
Yet she strives to be kind to her best ability.
~*~
She doesn't want "basic", but "extra" and "mastery".
She's after "excellence", not simply "ordinary".
Thus she makes effort to seek knowledge continuously,
Applying what's learned, and doing good abundantly.
~*~
Because enjoining what's right isn't done by many,
And passiveness became normalized negatively,
Numbers regard her as a show-off full of conceit,
Still she's fine being a lion among flocks of sheep.
~*~
Rejection from people doesn't make her feel lonely,
As her soul is satisfied pleasing Allah solely,
Whether silent or talkative, she remains busy,
Striving so Jannatul Ferdaus is her destiny.
~*~
📖 Abu Huraira RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "The strong believer is more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, but there is goodness in both of them. Be eager for what benefits you, seek help from Allah, and do not be frustrated. If something befalls you, then do not say: 'If only I had done something else.' Rather say: "Allah has decreed what He wills." Verily, the  phrase ‘if only’ opens the way for the work of shaytan."

Poem: Suicide Isn't A Solution, It's A Major Sin.

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 Never claim "no one cares" when Allah is always there,
Watching us from above, listening to our prayers,
Who took care of us when we were inside our mothers,
Who loves us when we go through each trial with Sabr.
~*~

Some youths attempt to kill themselves when they feel alone,
When they're heartbroken, when they don't enjoy peace at home,
Not knowing Allah is with us wherever we go,
And tests which Allah sends are meant for our faith to grow.
~*~
Your worth is not measured by how many likes you get
For each remark or photo you upload on the net.
Other users gaining fame shouldn't make you upset.
Aim to please Allah Only and pass this dunya's tests.
~*~
When doing others favors and trying to be kind,
When giving compliments or spreading positive vibes,
Do so to earn more of Allah's Love, not to be liked,
While aware that souls who help out are happy inside.
~*~
So when you give advice or try to make loved ones smile,
And they don't thank you but talk about you from behind,
Remain firm for Allah's sake, tell yourself "It's alright,
I've done good deeds to please Allah, not to be admired."
~*~
Suicide isn't the solution to any problem.
It's a shortcut to Hell and indicates impatience,
Shows a lack of trust in Allah the Most Forgiving,
And a wrong way to cancel brief examinations.
~*~
Thus, don't worry if by people you're not recognized.
Allah is the One to reward you, not humankind.
With strong faith/Imaan, Sabr and Shukr, you'll survive.
Go on surviving till you arrive in Paradise.
~*~
📖 Abu Huraira RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Whoever kills himself with a piece of iron, his piece of iron in his hand will be thrust into his stomach in the fire of Hell forever and ever. Whoever drinks poison and kills himself, he will consume it in the fire of Hell forever and ever. Poem: Thank Those Who Gossip About You, They've Given Good Deeds.

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 To the people whose mouths mentioned me negatively,
Who kept themselves busy with backbiting jealously,
Who joked about me in my absence and when near me:
Thanks for taking my sins. Thank you for all your good deeds.
~*~

Being spoken of badly is from Allah's Mercy,
When rewards are sent to my account effortlessly,
When sins I've done previously disappear easily -
Each time I'm ridiculed by those guilty of envy.
~*~
I know I'm not perfect, and I'm a threat to many,
I admit people's thoughts are not my reality.
Hence I don't backbite, even critics and enemies,
Since gossip is nonsense and shows instability.
~*~
The morally unstable, weak emotionally,
And sadly insecure are more likely gossipy.
Instead of saying Dhikr and Du'as fruitfully,
They sacrifice some good deeds to ease their jealousy.
~*~

Weren't they brought up to treat others respectfully?
Don't they know that being rude proves they're jealous clearly,
And their life doesn't improve by making people weep?
Broken things can't get fixed by causing beings to bleed.
~*~
Seeing how I was taught to preserve true dignity,
I minimize chit-chatting with people needlessly,
Replacing them with moments to self-reflect wisely,
Content with Qur'an reading to keep me company.
~*~
In an era when most are confirmed untrustworthy,
It's best to isolate, learn from afar carefully,
And leave gossipers with negative mentality,
To rely on Allah Only Who knows us truly.

Poem: What It Means To Be Humble

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 To be humble is to recall that we're Allah's slaves,
To serve Allah, knowing we'll be asked on Judgment Day
About our actions, if we did them just for His sake,
And whether we helped people or watch them go astray.
~*~
Being humble doesn't mean acting invisible,
Behaving like a weak person who can't be helpful.
The more you learn about Islam, the more you're able
To assist others and invite them to Allah's Call.
~*~
When you're humble, you're capable of saying sorry,
Fine marrying one from another race or country,
Okay with forgiving, accepting polygyny,
Congratulating friends for their joys without envy.
~*~
Only if you're humble can you eat with your right hand,
Still supporting the Sunnah at classy restaurants.
When humble, you can exchange salaams, and understand
It's better to ditch debates that weaken faith/Imaan.
~*~
An arrogant adult can't be nice towards children,
They're far too important to be playful and listen.
Humble adults on the other hand can be patient,
Caring for their kids and others' without complaining.
~*~
While the arrogant always expect to be admired,
Proud of their status, riches and expensive attire,
Those with humbleness and true inner beauty inside
Don't care about luxury nor about being liked.
~*~
People who practice humility don't criticize
Others for their looks, their house, and kind of things they buy.
They have Sabr, and care enough to give/take advice,
As they remind people to join them to Paradise.
~*~
📖 ‘Iyad Ibn Himar RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu alaihi wa sallam said, "Verily, Allah has revealed to me that you must be humble towards one another, so that no one oppresses another or boasts to another."

Poem: Self-Control. Avoiding Lusts.

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 The heart wants what it wants, while I long for Allah's Love.
In a constant fight against evil desires and thoughts,
Restraining myself with faith to defeat shaytan's plots,
My shields include Taqwa, saying Dhikr and Du'as,
Recalling death, knowing Jannah is better than lust.
~*~

If zina was allowed, I'd be polyamorous,
Flirting around with many, to be adventurous,
Regardless of their gender, not fearful of critics,
But it isn't. Zina is strictly prohibited.
So I distance myself and keep my feelings suppressed.
~*~
Seclusion by choice can help when fitna is widespread,
Along with befriending just those who can be trusted,
Being cautious with the kind of writings that are read,
Training the self to be quiet when others gossip,
And avoiding any chance which could trigger distress.
~*~

When shaytan tries to entice me with sinful visions,
Unwanted emotions and vile imaginations,
I strive to snap out of them, drop all the daydreaming,
Come back to my senses, and recall my main mission -
To enter Jannah, not surrender to temptation.
~*~
Controlling the heart can be tough examination,
I admit, yet each time I pass, I upgrade patience,
Gratitude and contentment with what Allah destined.
As warriors on the way to Allah, keep on striving
'Till we reach Jannah where wishes aren't forbidden.

📖 Anas Ibn Malik RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Guarantee six deeds from me and I assure your acceptance into Paradise. When one of you speaks, let him not lie. When one of you promises, let him not break it. When one of you is trusted, let him not betray it. Lower your gaze, restrain your hands from harming others, and guard your chastity."

Poem: Value Modesty For Allah's Sake

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 A woman's beauty designed and given by Allah
Isn't meant to be flaunted to bring about fitnah.
Her adornments are for her spouse when she's a zawjah,
Not to distract people from their duties and Salah.
~*~
The hijab is an order from Allah to women
Who want to be distinguished as obedient Muslims,
Striving to please Him and leave what He has forbidden,
Wanting to be loved for their faith, not mere appearance.
~*~
Freedom isn't in showing yourself like cheap items,
Not in buying branded cosmetics nor modeling.
Being free as Muslimahs means having confidence
To dress modestly, not being enslaved by fashion.
~*~

Instead of the likes of Kardashians, Nicki Minaj,
And other female celebs, you admire Khadijah,
'Aisha Bint Abu Bakr, Hafsa and Fatima,
And other Muslimahs destined to enter Jannah.
~*~
Rather than obsessing over long fake eyelashes,
Cool hair dyes, fancy highlights, colored contact lenses,
And taking hot selfies, make effort to be pious.
Allah will judge your heart and deeds, not your outer looks.
~*~
A fashion influencer's fans and secret admirers
Can't really benefit her soul in the Hereafter.
Better are Muslims who busy themselves with Dhikr,
Seeking knowledge, not eager to be liked by others.
~*~

A Muslimah's honor is not in a tiara
Nor in a sash award but in just pleasing Allah.
She glows with faith/Imaan, liberated from dunya,
Enjoying peace of mind while she strives to reach Jannah.

📖 Abu Udhaynah RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "The best of your women are loving, fertile, suitable, and comforting, if they fear Allah. The worst of your women unveil their beauty, take pride in their appearance, and they are hypocrites. None of them will enter Paradise except as rarely as you see a red-beaked crow."
