Poem: What Real Arrogance Is And What It Isn't

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

💌 Arrogance is not in speaking up confidently,

Asserting your rights, sharing knowledge generously,

Defending a Muslim when some speak of them badly,

Enjoying solitude and choosing your friends wisely.

~•~

Real arrogance is to deny the truth pridefully,

To roll your eyes when someone speaks and say, "Oh really?

Who are you to correct my mistakes? You're nobody.

I'm way better than you. Your words mean nothing to me."

~•~

Real arrogance states, "I won't learn from anybody.

I was born perfect. I'm free from flaws, deficiencies,

And responsibilities. It's not my job to teach.

My ego is so big I can't even say sorry."

~•~

Arrogance is not in appreciating beauty,

Wearing clothes you can afford, writing creatively,

Taking care of your looks and liking to be pretty.

True arrogance keeps your nose in the air so proudly.

~•~

True arrogance makes one think, "I'm the best. I'm lucky.

No one else can surpass my fabulous qualities.

I'm entitled to special treatment like VIPs,

And those who don't greet me first are avowed enemies."

~•~

Actual arrogance causes one to act spitefully,

To envy others' gifts, oppress like jealous bullies,

To laugh when someone makes mistakes or falls clumsily,

To regard strangers' tips and advice as unworthy.

~•~

Arrogant people are insecure, inside ugly,

And since they're guilty of kibr, they lack inner peace.

The humble submit themselves to Allah patiently,

And strive to be fair and kind with every soul they meet.

📖 Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "No one who has the weight of a seed of arrogance in his heart will enter Paradise." Someone said, "But a man loves to have beautiful clothes and shoes." The Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Verily, Allah is Beautiful and He loves beauty. Arrogance means rejecting the truth and looking down on the people."

In another narration, the Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "No one who has the weight of a seed of faith in his heart will enter Hellfire."

Note: Dress Code For Muslim Men And The Forbiddance Of Wearing Clothes With Pride

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

💌 Allah the Most Wise knows best.

Three reasons why Muslim men are not allowed to wear garments, thobe and pants below their ankles:

1] To maintain their masculinity, just as they are obliged to keep their beards, and to prevent them from imitating the distinctive mannerisms of women when the latter drag their dresses and gowns.

2] To clearly differentiate them from the unbelievers who don't follow a certain dress code. Besides being distinguished by their long beards and lowering the gaze, another signature of pious Muslim men is dutifully avoiding the qaza' haircut, silk, gold, and clothing that flow beneath their ankles.

3] To examine who from the Muslims will readily obey Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala and His noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam and who would stubbornly give more importance to their desires and modern society's demands.

📖 Abu Huraira RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Verily, Allah the Almighty does not accept the prayer of a man who trails his garment in pride."

📖 Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "The garment of a Muslim (man) should be lowered to the middle of the shin (front part of the leg below the knee), but there is no harm or blame in what is between it and the ankles. Whatever is lower than the ankles is in the Hellfire. Whoever trails his garment in pride, Allah will never look at him."

Al-Azimabadi said, “In this tradition is evidence that it is recommended for the garment of a Muslim man to be lowered midway between the shins, and it is permissible, without being discouraged, to lower it even further to the ankles.”

📖 Abu Musa RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Verily, Allah the Almighty has made lawful silk and gold for the women of my nation, but He has forbidden them for men."
