Poem: Admonish Yourself & Gain Taqwa

๐Ÿ’ In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
๐Ÿ’Œ Seek refuge with Allah from shaytan our enemy,
This foe who hates Prophet Adam and humanity,
Who adorns evil and whispers into hearts daily,
And who thinks he can outsmart us through vile fallacies.
~*~
Snap out of it. You're not "in love". Stop the fantasies.
Don't be deluded by shaytan's sinful reveries.
Whether you're intrigued by this person's mind or beauty,
It's not love if it weakens your faith and piety.
~*~
Strange flutters in your tummy? Dreams of them as you sleep?
Increased heartbeats whenever their name or face is seen?
Distractions like these that cause your Imaan to decrease
Are but shaytan's whisperings which you can still defeat.
~*~
Overcome your desires by trusting Allah firstly,
Say Du'a and Adhkaar, read the Qur'an frequently,
Always learn Islam, befriend the pious and sincere,
Enhance self-discipline by fasting regularly.
~*~
Be detached from crushes. For death try to be ready.
For Allah's sake sacrifice and maintain modesty.
Instead of pursuing joys that are temporary,
Strive for Jannah where bliss is enjoyed eternally.
~*~
๐Ÿ“– Anas Ibn Malik RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Guarantee me six deeds and I assure your acceptance into Paradise. When one of you speaks, let him not lie. When one of you promises, let him not break it. When one of you is trusted, let him not betray it. Lower your gaze, restrain your hands from harming others, and guard your chastity."

๐Ÿ“– Abdullah ibn Mas’ud RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Verily, shaytan has influence with the son of Adam and the Angel has influence. As for the influence of shaytan, he promises evil and denies the truth. As for the influence of the Angel, he promises goodness and affirms the truth. Whoever finds this goodness, let him know that it is from Allah and let him praise Allah. Whoever finds something else, let him seek refuge in Allah from the accursed shaytan." Then, the Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam recited the verse, 'shaytan threatens you with poverty and commands evil, but Allah promises you forgiveness and favor from Him.' Ibn Al-Qayyim said, “Know that passing thoughts are not harmful. Indeed, they are only harmful if they are sought after and engaged. For a thought is like a passerby on the road; if you ignore him, he will depart from you.”
