💌 To those who don't understand cousin marriages yet,
Who make life choices based on what modernists expect,
Who guess, "you can't marry cousins! Some scientists said
Cousins who marry each other end up with weird kids."
Or "cousins are like my bros. We can't get attracted.":

You can marry a male cousin. He's not like your bro.
Do you think Prophet Adam's sons did something so low
When they married each other's "sisters" lawfully so
Humanity can grow, and that was eras ago?

The emergence of Prophet Muhammad (SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam) was a gift,
His life taught us what was lawful, what was permitted,
And how to implement what Allah legislated.
From his Seerah we learn it's okay to get married
To one's cousin. That's clear proof it's not prohibited.

Likely reasons why many parents prefer to wed
Their daughters to male cousins: To be more connected,
To strengthen family ties, their kind can be trusted
More than strangers whose ways may conflict with relatives',
Or the two are in love so they wish to get married.

The Prophet Muhammad (SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam) also married his cousin,
Zainab bint Jahsh (RadhiAllahu 'anha), one of the most generous women.
To those against cousin marriages, are you claiming
The Prophet (SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam) did something wrong and you're better than him?
Don't alter Islamic laws according to your whims.

Dear Muslimahs, male cousins are not mahrams. Case closed.
Don't be misled by haraam "love" on some TV shows.
Don't change halal into makrooh to soothe bruised ego.
If it's your choice to not marry cousins, just say "no",
But your personal abhorrence shouldn't be enforced.

And, MashaAllah, Allah blessed them with cute children.
Acknowledge the fact that couples come in different
Shapes and sizes, with unique journeys and temperaments.
What matters is your marriage leads to Jannah's entrance.
