💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 Red flags of toxic friends and signs they're not good for you:
One: They cringe each time you speak, because they're insecure.
Your bright vibes threaten them and make them feel less assured.
If they fail to listen, leave them and their dismal moods.
~•~
Two: Clingy and unreasonable, they tend to hold on
To your past mistakes, they still obsess with all your wrongs,
And they rigidly insist that you meet their demands,
Disrespecting your time, your space, your needs and your wants.
~•~
Three: They make decisions based on ego and feelings,
Exclude you from trips with mutual friends when you hurt them,
Share passive-aggressive posts or blurt spiteful statements
About you instead of having fruitful discussions.
~•~
Four: What come out of their mouths cause your faith to decrease,
From deliberate lies and insincere flattery
To dreadful bragging to prove their superiority
And indulging in gossip like immature bullies.
~•~
Five: The "friendship" seems one-sided, deceitful and forced,
With you always reaching out, unsurprised if they ghost.
Six: Advice and tips you give them are simply ignored.
Gladly free yourself from those who misconstrue your words.
~•~
Seven: Their interests clearly conflict with your life goals.
Seeking Islamic knowledge makes them feel "fake" or bored.
Showbiz, celeb trivia, false news and rumors they hoard.
Save yourself from those whose morals are low or absurd.
~•~
No regret in decluttering your list of close friends.
Your selectiveness doesn't imply you're arrogant.
You're just avoiding obstacles for self-improvement,
And for Allah's sake you're preserving your well-being.
