Poem: What Undue Jealousy Does

๐Ÿ’ In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

๐Ÿ“‘ With thorns on both sides, envy is like a spiky coat
Which when worn brings its wearer and critics discomfort.
It's an abhorrent trait, adored by shaytan our foe,
And it causes the jealous to loathe whom they don't know.
Jealousy is ugly yet it's widespread in this world.
~•~
Real envy can cause you to "cringe" or prompt eyes to roll
When hearing the voice of people whom you're jealous of.
It forces you to obsess over somebody's faults,
Prevents you from befriending those with similar goals,
And urges you to act rude or have some souls ignored.
~•~
Foul jealousy invites you to think of spiteful thoughts
Such as "look at her again, she's clearly showing off!",
"They're all narcissists. Don't pay attention to their words."
And "To us, he's a loser, no matter what he does.".
Envy can make you view gems as nothing more than dust.
~•~
Envy is the culprit in causing friends to split up,
In preventing neighbors from wanting to interact,
And in provoking teachers into acting unjust.
It can drive you to recall people's faults they forgot
And it cheapens the price of gifts you already have.
~•~
Acting on envy may equal doubting Allah's Love
And Wisdom in distributing His blessings on earth.
Jealousy disturbs the heart. With it you can't relax.
Thank Allah for the good things you've got, don't watch lame vlogs,
And aspire to reach Jannah where bliss forever lasts.

๐Ÿ“– Abu Huraira RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Do not envy each other, do not outbid each other, do not hate each other, do not turn away from each other, and do not outsell each other. Rather, be servants of Allah as brothers. The Muslim is the brother of another Muslim. He does not wrong him, nor humiliate him, nor look down upon him. Righteousness (piety) is here," and he Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam pointed to his chest three times. The Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "It is enough evil for a man to look down upon his Muslim brother. The entirety of the Muslim is sacred (inviolable) to another Muslim: His life, his wealth, and his reputation (his honor)."
