Note: Just Sharing Some Lessons Learned From Trying To Buy A Whistle To Help My Dear Husband

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

📑 Searching for a whistle on the same day when it's accordingly required for a team to perform well in their field demo presentation during this intramurals week isn't easy particularly if one was notified too late regarding an item's unavailability. Alhamdulillah today I learned that there wasn't any whistle being sold at Save More, two 7/11 branches, a DIY store and True Value store in Abreeza Mall and the whistles at most of those shops including National Bookstore were accordingly sold out probably due to many schools similarly conducting intramurals recently.

I vaguely remember wanting to order some whistles several months ago while browsing around Shopee assuming that we may need some whistles in the future but then I canceled adding whistles to my virtual cart because I thought maybe we can use an old whistle I purchased previously. I tried looking for those old whistles though this morning and I couldn't find them while rushing to do other tasks.

Alhamdulillah one thing I'm glad about is that I didn't unnecessarily scold my dear husband saying something like "Why should I be the one to look for her whistle? I'm not her biological mom. Plus I'm supposed to do other things around school instead of shopping for a whistle." And "You're so irresponsible; you should've at least informed me yesterday afternoon that she needed a whistle so we could've bought it while we were outdoors yesterday." But Alhamdulillah I didn't want to argue at all with him knowing that he arrived yesterday or several hours ago from Marawi and driving for so many hours is not an effortless task plus I wanted to let him know that I care about him and his other loved ones for Allah's sake by going out of my way to buy that whistle.

Alhamdulillah I managed to buy a whistle from Abreeza Mall for 120 pesos (so expensive compared to the plastic ones at China Town etc.) and my husband's second daughter was able to borrow it and Alhamdulillah her team won many points.

✨ Quick lessons learned to share:-
✅ Do everything for Allah's sake only with Ikhlaas sincerity so your efforts won't be wasted.
✅ Avoid allowing potential arguments with your spouse to escalate by choosing to forgive your soulmate for Allah's sake and recalling their positive traits and understanding their shortcomings.
✅ To be more efficient
Inn-sha-Allah while shopping, don't feel shy to ask questions to the security guard and/or some salespeople and staff who could be willing to assist in any way they can (unless they apparently look very busy).
✅ You're not the only one who feels exhausted and fatigued at times. There are other human beings out there who are probably dealing with a lot more tougher situations than you are at the moment.
Don't be so selfish that you assume you're the only one who gets stressed.
✅ Never get tired of striving to be patient for Allah's sake.
Inn-sha-Allah there's always a reason why Allah the Most Wise wants us to go out when we assume we wouldn't be going out at all.
Perhaps Inn-sha-Allah for some strangers and non-Muslim pedestrians and passersby to see a niqabi walking quickly past them could be an indirect form of Da'wah. My dear mother (Allah yarhamha. Ameen.) often let me know that even wearing the niqab and abaya for Allah's sake in a country where the population is predominantly non-Muslims if I'm not mistaken is an indirect form of Da'wah and inviting others to Islam, specially if you as a niqabi carry out a benevolent act sometimes like telling a stranger "Keep the change", "Enjoy your work" or "Kumusta yung trabaho mu?" Etc. it's also an effective training
Inn-sha-Allah to enhance one's self-esteem and to reduce or avoid social anxiety.
✅ Now and then Allah the Almighty may decree that you do certain things so that He Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala can prove to some of His other servants that you indeed care about them.
✅ Usually if you ever have that tiny gut feeling or intuition telling you to do something then do your best to listen to that inner voice and pray two Sunnah Rak'ahs of Salat Al-Istikhaara if you have the time and ability to do so. Listening to my intuition at times is something I still need to work on.

May Allah the Most Merciful forgive all our sins and mistakes and always protect us from making wrong decisions in both worlds. Ameen.
