๐ In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
๐ If only those folks didn't post those status updates
That seemed passive-aggressive, filled with envy and hate,
I wouldn't have unfriended them, and they would've stayed
As potential friends, but Allah willed they'd go away.
~•~
If only they answered my messages earlier,
Proved they were reliable, good advice they offered,
And talked more often, our friendship would've been longer,
But Allah detached us. We're back to being strangers.
~•~
If only I was more open to my ex-best friend
And canceled all the actions that led to arguments,
We'd still be talking by now and analyzing dreams,
But Allah willed she'd leave while I'd confide in just Him.
~•~
If only I didn't rush, and took more time thinking
About that task's likely outcomes before reacting,
And if I researched carefully before deciding,
The fees wouldn't have been wasted, but I learned something.
~•~
If only I was present at that fam reunion
And shared my thoughts in a manner that's more appealing,
Many of them and I'd still be communicating,
But I tried, and Allah knows there's a better timing.
~•~
If only this and that behaved much more decently,
Never made taboo gestures and lousy emojis,
I'd be willing to befriend them, and we'd chat daily,
But Allah kept them distant, as they're not good for me.
~•~
When regret and thoughts that start with "If only..." pass by,
I recall we're just servants of Allah the Most Wise
Who controls all things in, above and beneath the skies.
What take place on earth are what Allah decrees and likes.
~•~
We can't always grasp why certain incidents occur,
As we're humans who often forget, misjudge and err.
As Muslims we trust Allah, with Sabr and Shukr,
Believing in the truth that Allah controls Qadr.
~•~
Feeling remorseful in dunya isn't as intense
As everlasting regret of Allah's opponents
Who in the afterlife would wish to have worshipped Him.
In our trust and belief in Allah let's be constant.

๐ Suhayb RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Amazing is the affair of the believer, as there is good for him in every matter. This is not the case for anyone but for the believer. If he goes through ease (or happy moments), he thanks Allah and it is good for him. If he goes through difficulty, he shows patience and it is good for him."

๐ Sa’d Ibn Abi Waqqas RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: I said, “O Messenger of Allah, which of the people are most severely tested?” The Messenger of Allah SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "They are the prophets, then the next best (in terms of righteousness), then the next best. A man is put to trial according to his Deen/religion. If he is firm in his religion, his trials will be more severe. If he is weak in his religion, he is put to trial according to his strength in religion. The servant will continue to be put to trial until he is left walking upon the earth without any sin."

๐ Abu Huraira RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "The strong believer is more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, but there is goodness in both of them. Be eager for what benefits you, seek help from Allah, and do not be frustrated. If something befalls you, then do not say: 'If only I had done something else.' Rather say: "Allah has decreed what He wills." Verily, the phrase ‘if only’ opens the way for the work of shaytan."
