Tips: When Is Polygyny Better Than Monogamy And Vice Versa?

💌 Which is better overall? Polygyny or monogamy? For a woman to be her husband's only wife? Or for her to courageously love her husband together with another woman (or other ladies) whom he married lawfully? 

A rose by itself smells delightful, but bring four roses together to form a bouquet or nicely place them in an ornamental vase, and the scent they emit would be stronger and more sublime. Nonetheless refrain from buying more roses if you're allergic to flowers and frequent exposure to their scent can cause your health to decline. 

A flashlight can be helpful if you're walking around a forest at night, but there's more guarantee that you can survive longer and it'd be easier to find your way around the dark if you carry four flashlights. Make sure you don't forget their batteries and each battery isn't expired.

A cup of coffee or tea is satisfactory with a small packet or cube of sugar, but if you have a sweet tooth, your drink would be more enjoyable when you increase the sweetness. It could be a problem though if you currently suffer from UTI or diabetes.

A carriage or wagon which is being pulled by one healthy horse isn't as fast and efficient as carriages being dragged by four strong horses, just as a tiny gift box or note with a loving message would soar into the skies much faster and higher if it is tied to four balloons rather than a single balloon of the same size. A candle on its own can provide minimal light to a room, but if you have four candles, each one to be placed in a corner, you'd be able to see your surroundings better. Avoid neglecting the candles so they don't set your curtains or wooden furniture on fire. 

✅ Polygyny is better than monogamy and becomes a blessing if: 

1] Polygyny works as a catalyst in strengthening the faith/Imaan, patience, and sense of responsibility of the husband and his wives. 

2] Through polygyny the man is capable of making good use of his additional wealth in earning more rewards by taking care of a widow and her child/kids or divorcee who finds it difficult to search for a pious spouse. 

3] The polygynous marriage can inspire harmony among Muslim communities and play a role in defeating racism or tribalistic tendencies when the man is gratefully married to wives from different regions or countries, while their multiracial children are all at peace with one another. 

❎ Polygyny is not advisable and can become a trial:

1] If it causes the faith/Imaan of a Muslim and any of his wives to weaken. 

2] If it makes the man behave in a way that is unjust, neglectful, and irresponsible to all or any of his wives. 

3] If the husband still has loads of debts to be paid and it is obvious that he is financially struggling or emotionally unstable. 

Before a man wishes to have a second, third, and fourth wife, it is recommended that he prays two Sunnah Rak'ahs of Salat Al-Istikhaara then measure the pros and cons of managing a large family so he doesn't struggle with regret in the future. 

Alhamdulillah, even though my late mother (Allah yarhamha. Ameen.) frequently advised my late father (Allah yarhamhu. Ameen.) to have a second wife, he openly rejected the idea of remarrying, and instead remained contented with having her as his only beloved wife in this temporary dunya. 

Not all women are tough enough to accept polygyny. Not all men act as "womanizers" who wish to take advantage of the permissibility of polygyny in Islam. 

Polygyny isn't obligatory. What's mandatory upon the man is to try his very best to love his wives for Allah's sake with as much wisdom, justice, and fairness as he can.

Poem: When You Can Show Anger For Allah's Sake And When To Hold Your Temper

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful 

💌 Three instances when being angry is justified: 

When some devalue Allah's Laws and Rights due to pride, 

When liars spread lies despite warning them countless times, 

And when your scolding is intended to make things right, 

While anger signifies care and concern from inside.

When would holding your temper be a choice that is wise, 

And instead of reacting, you keep fury inside? 

When a culprit did something wrongly for the first time, 

When faults are accidental and one apologized, 

And the scoundrel was coerced or they're still a young child.

What you can do when furious feelings begin to rise: 

Seek Allah's Refuge from shaytan who gets satisfied 

When you lose control and act in ways undignified. 

Perform ablution. Flee situations you dislike.

Avoid toxic people and to Allah calmly cry.

Imagine trolls and troublemakers as nosy spies 

Rehearsing their acts so you're triggered, antagonized, 

Or compelled to misbehave to spoil your blissful life. 

Minimize dealing with them. Don't do what they desire. 

Pray that Allah keeps you firm against their wrongs and lies.

See foes as pesky flies that like to approach bright light. 

Perhaps they're sent by Allah to test your faith inside. 

Aim to please Allah by striving to fight ego, pride, 

And shaytan when he wants you to unjustly revile. 

Silence may be safer than always proving you're right.

Note: Can A Woman Accept A Muslim's Marriage Proposal Only If He Agrees To Never Remarry For As Long As She's His Wife?

🗒️ Allah the Almighty knows best. 

1] When a woman, whether single or widowed, receives a marriage proposal, she can inform her father, brothers, or uncles to place a condition that she will accept the man's proposal only if he promises to never remarry for as long as she is his wife. If he breaks his promise in the future, it's up to her to ask for a divorce if being in a polygynous marriage weakens her faith/Imaan. 

2] If a woman didn't make it a condition for her husband in the very beginning to avoid remarrying in the future or it would prompt her to leave him, she has no right to prevent him later from being married to a second, third, and fourth wife, because Muslim men are allowed to be wed to up to four wives if they're financially capable of taking care of a large family for Allah's sake. 

3] It is wrong for a Muslim female to demand any man to divorce his first wife or abandon his other wives so she can accept his marriage proposal. Talaaq doesn't lawfully take place if the man did it unwillingly or he was coerced to divorce at the request of some relatives or outsiders.

Note: Some Notes Regarding Doing Good Deeds On Behalf Of Muslims Who Died

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful 

🗒️ Some notes regarding doing good deeds on behalf of Muslims who died, specially one's deceased parents: 

1] Including them in your Du'as / supplications regularly, praying to Allah the Almighty that He forgives them, protects them from the torment of the grave and jahannam, and destines them to be among the people of Jannatul Ferdaus, can benefit Muslims who have passed away. 

2] The rewards of doing charity for Allah's sake 

can Inn-sha-Allah benefit Muslims in their graves. Some examples of charitable deeds you can do on their behalf include: 

1) Giving some financial assistance, clothing, food, or free accommodation to the needy and less fortunate on behalf of the deceased. 

2) Providing food and drink to birds and animals on behalf of the dead, specially if they frequently fed stray cats when they were alive. 

3) Building a well, water tank, or providing water for the people, including travelers or clients, on behalf of the deceased. 

4) Constructing an orphanage, under their name or on their behalf, where Muslim orphans can reside for free and study about Islam. 

5) Distributing authentic Islamic books on their behalf or occasionally sharing some of their Islamic writings, articles, and recorded Islamic lectures. 

3] Doing good deeds on someone's behalf doesn't really benefit a person who didn't live as a Muslim. 

4] If a Muslim died during Ramadan and they weren't able to complete the remaining fasts, any of their immediate relatives or close friends can fast the obligatory fasts on their behalf. Inn-sha-Allah they can earn rewards for kindly assisting them in completing their fasts. 

5] There is no need to fast missed obligatory fasts if the deceased Muslims had a justifiable or valid excuse for not fasting, such as coma, long-term illness, and any disease which prevented them from doing the good deeds they usually do. 

6] The rewards of reading any chapter / Surah from the Noble Qur'an and fasting Sunnah / voluntary fasts on behalf of the dead can't really reach them. Your Du'as are more rewarding and effective if you pray for their forgiveness while fasting your own Sunnah fasts. 

7] Inn-sha-Allah you may perform Hajj and/or Umrah / pilgrimage on behalf of deceased Muslims, even if they have performed Hajj at least once before when they were living.

📖 Ibn Abbas RadhiAllahu 'anhuma narrated: A woman came to the Messenger of Allah SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam and she said, "My mother has died and she owed a month of fasting." The Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Do you think if she had a debt you would repay it on her behalf?" She said "yes."
