Note: My Answer To "What Made You Accept Polygyny?"

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
📜 Question: What made you accept polygyny? How can a woman know that her husband loves her if he is married to multiple wives?
📝 Answer: Alhamdulillah I was aware of the concept of polygyny since I was a teenager and my late grandfather (Allah yarhamhu. Ameen.) was married to three wives. I've always admired big families, especially those that are so supportive of one another regarding both Dunya and Deen related matters. My husband himself grew up in a large household consisting of twelve siblings, raised well by his mother who gave birth to seven sons and five daughters. Alhamdulillah another benefit of marrying my cousin, after all the marriage proposals that I previously rejected, is being more understanding, patient and tolerant towards individuals with special needs or disabilities, since one of his brothers shows signs of autistic behavior.
When my husband expressed to me his desire to have more children, I apologized to him explaining why I couldn't fulfill what he wanted due to some complications and health issues. Afterwards I informed him about polygyny and how I'm okay if he remarried. Upon asking me if a man is obliged to ask for his wife's permission if he can remarry, I told him it's a man's right in Islam to have up to four wives even if one of the wives disagrees or threatens him with separation. Around the year 2012, when I was about 26 years old, I found out he had a second wife (a Visayan) with a son named Yusuf. He told me he chose 'Yusuf' because he remembered how I liked that name. Alhamdulillah to be honest I wasn't shocked to know that my husband married again as I was expecting he'd go for it, since I mentioned to him about how men are allowed to have up to four wives in Islam, so long as they're financially and religiously capable to do so.
I like the idea of polygyny because of the following advantages and reasons:
1) Increase in family size and the number of Muslims who follow the Noble Qur'an and Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu alaihi wa sallam.
The more kids that a man and his wives have, the more children can support their halal businesses or Da'wah work for Allah's sake in the future. If a man's first wife is infertile and incapable of having babies, he has a right to have a second, third and fourth wife if he wishes to raise righteous Muslim children without divorcing the first wife.
2) Opportunity for the wife to have a close friend within the family. Rather than considering her co-wife as an enemy or a threat to her marriage life, she can learn to love her as a friend for Allah's sake. Both can help one another and exchange helpful advice to thrive as pious wives. Loving the same handsome, funny and hardworking man is one of the things they have in common to be more compatible and relatable.
3) Chance for the first wife to rest when her husband is with the other wife. Instead of being too preoccupied with the duties of a busy housewife night and day, making sure the house is spotlessly clean every second and ensuring your lover always enjoys a fabulous evening with you despite feeling exhausted or not in the mood at times (particularly if you're having your period), you get to relax for a few days and enjoy the kind of independence you felt when you were single. Polygyny is suitable for those type of lovers who dislike being too clingy or excessively attached to their partners.
4) Polygyny can educate the children to appreciate unity in spite of diversity, if their father is married to wives from different tribes or countries. It also allows people from various clans and continents to avoid racism, tribalism and nationalism. Imagine a Saudi Muslim guy married to four wives, an Egyptian, a Filipino, an Indian, and a half-British half-Pakistani. Their multiracial kids, along with their cousins and relatives, wouldn't hate on other nationalities because they have a number of family members who come from that country.
5) Welcoming polygyny for Allah's sake can Inn-sha-Allah elevate a woman's rank or status in Jannah for patiently accepting what Allah the Most Wise made permissible for men yet difficult for the majority of women. While staying in a polygynous marriage and wearing the niqab are very hard for many Muslimahs to do, those who are able to see their virtues, wisdom and value can willingly embrace them with rewarding patience and gratitude.
6) If you pass away, the other wives of your husband can look after your children instead of leaving your kids with a widowed father who may marry a woman that could turn out to be an unpleasant stepmother.
7) You sense how your love for your husband is true when you can continue loving him even if he's away for several days or he's with his other lawful wives. For him to be married lawfully to multiple wives is a lot better than to be his only wife while he could be dating some 'secret mistresses'.
~*~
Some of the signs that your husband loves you, when he has multiple wives all of whom he loves so dearly:
1) Allowing you to touch him, massage or hold his hand. Men in general hate being touched by those they're not close to.
2) Answering your text messages and calls, even if they're delayed or brief. If a guy doesn't like you at all, he wouldn't bother checking your message to read.
3) Frequently trying to joke with you and make you laugh, especially when he notices that you're stressed, sad or angry.
4) Being patient enough to listen to you talk or tolerate your weirdness when you behave childishly and playfully.
5) Encouraging you to learn more about Islam, giving you permission to spend time with religious sisters and correcting your mistakes when it's your turn to be advised.
6) Demonstrating random acts of love or surprising you with romantic gestures from time to time, like feeding you from the meal or snack he's eating, offering you a back-rub, massaging your hands, squeezing your nose or cheeks lovingly (facial cheeks and bottom cheeks included), drinking from the same glass or cup you drank from, waking you up for Salah, encouraging you to not be lazy as though he's your coach, advising you to forgive others, appreciating the food you give him or not complaining about your experimental cooking etc.
7) Preferring to see your natural beauty than with cosmetics on or not reacting negatively when he finds you without make-up.
Alhamdulillah those are just some things that indicate your hubby loves you even if you're in a polygynous marriage.

Ali Al-Qari said, “That she prostrates to her husband is due to the number of his rights over her and her difficulty in maintaining gratitude for them. This rhetorical point conveys the obligation of the wife to obey her husband in his rights. Indeed, prostration is not lawful to anyone other than Allah (Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala).”

Note: Actual Narcissists vs Actually Confident People

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 Five scenarios to differentiate actually arrogant and insecure narcissists from truly confident individuals:
1] When dining in a classy restaurant or chic cafe ➡️
Narcissists would excitedly pull out their android tablet or phone to take photos of the meals and/or drinks they've enjoyed, then upload them to their social media accounts specifically intending to show off their affluence, the "cool people" they socialize with often, or to make certain users cringe with jealousy.
Confident people would just quietly enjoy their dining experience without feeling the need to prove anything to anybody online and offline.
2] When taking a group photo in a social gathering or for documentation purposes ➡️
A typical narcissist would almost always insist or pridefully demand that they are positioned in the middle or anywhere near the center. As long as they look "perfect" and the camera is focused on their fabulous face, they don't care if others are not fully included in the picture. (Note: As Muslims it is better for us to avoid taking unnecessary photos.)
A confident person would be okay standing or sitting anywhere, wherever there's space.
3] When being asked for assistance or advice ➡️
Whether they can or can't help out in a situation, generally narcissists would never bother going out of they way to assist any human besides themselves, unless they obtain clear benefits from attempting or pretending to be helpful.
Confident people would gladly offer assistance if they have the ability to help out, and if they can't, they'd sincerely apologize and recommend somebody else whom they believe can try to assist them.
4] When their plans couldn't work out or they didn't get what they wanted ➡️
Narcissists would immediately plot some sort of revenge against those whom they regard as unfair, unreliable, or incompetent, instead of first trying to strategically analyze the mistakes, failures, or disappointments. Some of them may start spreading false rumors about the unwary culprits to get back at them, exclude them from staged outings, or insecurely resort to silent treatment.
Confident individuals would make effort to patiently accept cancelled plans, letdowns, and rejections, knowing that not everyone on earth always gets what they want, has it all together, and wins 24/7.
5] When they see other people who are more educated, more good-looking, more popular, more charismatic, more dedicated, taller or wealthier ➡️
Actual narcissists would instantly feel envious, and do whatever they can to surpass, outshine, and outdo those whom they're jealously threatened by.
Confident Muslims who firmly believe that Allah the Almighty fairly distributes His favors to His servants with wisdom would be happy to learn from those who are more knowledgeable, trained, or successful, and they're incapable of feeling jealous at all. If they do get triggered by envy sometimes, they refuse to act upon temporary negative emotions, aware that there are Angels nearby recording their actions and statements, and all humans will be questioned on the Day of Judgment.

📖 Abdullah Ibn Mas'ud RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "No one who has the weight of a seed (or atom) of arrogance in his heart will enter Paradise." Someone said, "But a man loves to have beautiful clothes and shoes." The Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Verily, Allah is Beautiful and He loves beauty. Arrogance means rejecting the truth and looking down on the people."
In another narration, the Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "No one who has the weight of a seed of faith in his heart will enter Hellfire."

Poem: Avoid Unfairly Suspecting That Your Husband Is "Cheating" On You

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 If I caught my husband talking to female monkeys
Or lionesses at a zoo, or female donkeys,
Would it be right if he's accused of disloyalty?
No. He's not "cheating" if there's no real intimacy,
No flirtatious texting, and no dates in secrecy.
~•~
If on his friends list online he has female colleagues,
Female clients, female students, those who formerly
Went to school/college with him, and girls who eagerly
Send random friend requests just for popularity,
Deal with this circumstance with logic and empathy.
~•~
If you were to command him to avoid faithfully
Each and every female whom he encounters or sees,
You might as well tell him to ensure that meat he eats
Is from female organisms, and those whom he speaks
To are all actual males, free from femininity.
~•~
What can be counted as cheating or adultery?
If your spouse chats with non-mahram females frequently
About things unnecessary while he purposely
Neglects you, and he makes use of them to sexually
Feel satisfied with no plan or intent to marry.
~•~
If one day though you find out he wants to remarry,
Keep calm, don't accuse him of cheating immediately.
Remind him of his duties, responsibilities,
And the need to be fair and wise in polygyny.
Pass love-related tests with wisdom and piety.

Poem: Don't Be Surprised If Most Of The People Whom You Meet Can't Be Trusted

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 Since most souls care more about themselves and interests,
And almost every person we meet can be selfish,
Don't be surprised when you learn someone can't be trusted,
When somebody from your fam or friends disappointed
You as they weren't strong enough to be unselfish.
~•~
Your mindset when another human makes a promise:
"While I'm aware that Allah sees their hearts, I admit
They have the tendency to feel jealous or forget.
Though I can't predict the future, I hope for what's best,
And if they disappoint, I choose to not stay upset.
~•~
In fact I'd think it's funny if my guess was correct,
That people can't always fulfill all their promises,
As their supplies are limited, while some get tempted
To cancel a plan, forgo certain tasks, or distress
You when there's crisis or some of their needs aren't met."
~•~
Visualize the untrustworthy with spying gadgets,
Commanded by pranksters to test your Sabr's limit,
Like you're in a show and the actors' goals are obvious.
Avoid reacting in a way they'd wish and expect.
Look unsurprised, unfazed, or unaffected instead.
~•~
Those who messed with your feelings or lied to you dismiss.
Next time never tell them about your thoughts or secrets.
View chronic liars as strangers who can't be trusted.
Contentedly trust Only Allah Who created
All souls including troublemakers you meet as tests.
~•~
📖 Abu Huraira RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "The strong believer is more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, but there is goodness in both of them. Be eager for what benefits you, seek help from Allah, and do not be frustrated. If something befalls you, then do not say: 'If only I had done something else.' Rather say: "Allah has decreed what He wills." Verily, the phrase ‘if only’ opens the way for the work of shaytan."

Tips: Some Ways To Respond To Being Told "You're Fat" Or "You've Gained Weight"

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 Seventeen ways to respond when being called "fat", simply say:
1] "Alhamdulillah." (Thank Allah the Almighty for the many blessings He has given you, for giving you another chance to live and do good deeds, and for not making you a bully who's guilty of inferiority complex or jealousy.)
2] "Aww. You too.", "Ikaw rin.", "Ska mambu."
3] "Thanks, you're beautiful too!", "Salamat, maganda ka din!" or "Aydow, mataid ka mambu!"
4] "Yes I'm fat - fabulous, awesome, and terrific in terms of personality. You need to have yours fixed, dearie."
5] "No that's not me. My name is [mention your full name slowly then spell it several times if necessary]."
6] "Are you advertising your weight loss program? Because I'm not interested, thank you very much."
7] "At least I can exercise and go on a diet anytime I like, while trying to fix your bad character could take an awful lot of time."
8] "You've just noticed? Of course I'm fat, and I'm lovin' it."
9] "Yeah I'm chubby, but it's not as terrible as being judgmental."
10] "Last time I checked, I never hired you to be my nutrition coach. Thanks for caring though."
11] "Do you say that to every person you have a crush on?" If they answer 'no, to every person I hate', tell them "well, you know what some people say - 'the more you hate, the more you love'. I feel so flattered. The feeling is mutual."
12] "Is that a new word you've learned from the dictionary? Congratulations. Try looking up the definition for 'shallow', 'uncouth' and 'immature'. Methinks those adjectives describe you perfectly."
13] "Are you making a desperate attempt at acknowledging the fact you're insecure? Congrats, it's actually working."
14] "How adorable. I didn't know you could act like a fifth-grade bully. Can you impersonate a birdie and fly away from me?"
15] "Sorry, I don't give out awards for obnoxious personalities. Maybe you can hunt for your certificate of being 'lousy at basic ethics' someplace else."
16] "And? Who are you, 'miss universe'?"
17] "I wonder if there's an antidote to solve your ugly personality. If it's unsolvable, then you have my empathy."
...or without any comeback, patiently remain quiet. Calmly look at them with a smile as if you figured out the reason why they're being disrespectful is either because they're jealous of something you have which they obviously lack (such as confidence, inner beauty, satisfaction with one's life, proper upbringing, and pure heart) or someone from their family or workplace is bullying them so they can't resist the urge to pass their sadness on to you.
