💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 A few tips on how to deal with those who ignore you,
Who gift you with apathy, scorn or ingratitude,
Who left your messages on seen mode, and misconstrue
Your condition and accuse you of "bad attitude":
~•~
One: Understand why they're ignoring. They're insecure,
Jealous of your blessings and cool things you get to do,
Or your intense enthusiasm leaves them confused -
Of how to measure up to your kindness they're unsure.
~•~
Two: Once you're done knocking on their doors several times,
And they reply by disregarding your many tries,
Gladly move on. A formal goodbye isn't required.
They may regret letting you evade after some time.
~•~
Let them realize what they'll be missing: Your soul's light,
Your willingness to listen to them, your kind advice,
Your eagerness to help them out and cheer when they thrive,
And saying their names in Du'as nearly day and night.
~•~
Three: Have enough self-respect to forget those who left.
No need to connect with those who bring no benefit,
Who fail to inspire you, who are too proud to forgive,
And whose obsession with gossip just produces stress.
~•~
Four: Though you've detached from some, recall your relatives.
To those connected through kinship still display respect.
Greet them with the salaam, and when you can, pay visits.
Pray that Allah guides them. Be patient when they upset.
~•~
Five: Be contented knowing that Allah always hears
And sees you even if all so-called friends disappeared.
People's avoidance or dismissal shouldn't be feared,
Because with or without them, Allah is always Near.
