In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
️ In some cases, when we've decided to quit trying to maintain friendship with an individual due to realizing how toxic or unreliable they are, we may find ourselves missing the fun times and long talks we enjoyed, or consider reconciliation so that the gifts we gave them aren't wasted. Occasionally missing a particular ex-friend isn't valid excuse for you to reconcile.
Just because you "miss" doing some sins in the past which you've repented from doesn't make it mandatory to return to them.
Checklist to determine if it's better to keep moving on and refrain from considering rebuilding a detrimental connection with a person who isn't good for you (if you agree with most of these points, then continue avoiding the negative individual for Allah's sake, believing that there's a reason why Allah the Almighty decreed your disconnection in the first place):
] You can recount at least five instances when this former "friend" did something offensive or unacceptable to you (online and offline). [ ]
] At least two of these adjectives very much describe them: "narcissistic", "selfish", "passive-aggressive", "uncommunicative", "unpredictable", "unsupportive", "uncooperative", "unhelpful", "untruthful", "distressing" or too "sarcastic". [ ]
] More than once when you've asked them for advice, they left your messages on "seen" mode or informed you they didn't know what to say or how to show support. [ ]
] You can sense that they're undeniably jealous of you for some reason, or you can tell that they despise at least two of your relatives. [ ]
] Overall your conversations are mostly awkward or disconcerting, or you feel that they don't truly understand your soul's language. [ ]
] You can imagine that if you were neighbors, you wouldn't bother visiting them as often as you'd like because there's something about them which makes you feel very distrustful, unsafe or uneasy. [ ]
] Even if you may miss them once in a while, you can't help but remember the unpleasant things they said or did to you and/or someone whom you care about for Allah's sake. [ ]
