๐️ Sharing some life lessons learned from the recent passing
Of a colleague, at a hospital, one late evening,
To share some knowledge on her behalf with some Muslims -
While I compose these rhymes I say I miss her presence,
Her cheerful vibes and teaching with enthusiasm:

She was about twenty-nine if I'm not mistaken,
Helped with watching a store before pursuing teaching,
And she left this brief dunya without any husband.
Before she passed away I saw her very often
At the Masjid with a Mushaf quietly reading.

I recall that time when she didn't pass a certain
Board exam or some test to advance her achievements.
Though another colleague passed an examination,
Dear sister Morsida tried her best with contentment
To accept Allah's Qadr / decisions with patience.

Despite some ailments and feeling fatigued now and then,
I believe she tried her best to keep persevering.
The fact she and I were not close friends somewhat saddens
Me, so to compensate for my appearing distant,
I share on her behalf some important life lessons:

One: Our Only True Friend is Allah, while His servants
Are either temporary tests for us or blessings.
Two: Though it's courageous to keep some problems hidden,
You may consult some loved ones for tips, reassurance,
Words of encouragement or loving supplications.

Seek help first from Allah and then from His creation,
Or continue trusting just Allah with resilience.
Three: Marrying at a young age is not evidence
Of someone's victory or satisfied well-being.
You can do well while single, as long as you're Muslim.

Four: As much as we can, when we meet every human,
Treat them nicely as that could be their final meeting.
Five: Reminding myself too, before forming judgments,
Inquire and be brave enough to ask useful questions.
Asking and learning can reduce misunderstandings.

Six: Know when to have good thoughts and when to abandon
Wishful thinking that could lead to procrastination.
If you wish to visit loved ones, go now. Visit them.
Seven: Know Allah controls everything. Stay patient.
Accept those things we couldn't do. They weren't destined.

Though sister Morsida can't hear me, I shall mention,
With Allah's Will, sis Morsida's name in my frequent
Prayers, supplications and some of my prostrations,
Begging Allah to forgive us and that He destines
Jannah to be our abode where we can meet again.

๐ Anas Ibn Malik RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Three things follow a deceased person (to the person's grave). Two of them return and one remains. His family, his wealth, and his deeds follow him. His family and wealth return, but his deeds remain (with the dead in their graves)."

๐ Ibn Abbas RadhiAllahu 'anhuma narrated: A woman came to the Messenger of Allah SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam and she said, "My mother has died and she owed a month of fasting." The Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Do you think if she had a debt you would repay it on her behalf?" She said "yes." The Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "The debts of Allah are more worthy to be repaid."
