Tips: Seven Signs That Solitude Is Better Than Wasting Time With A Cliquish Group

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
🗒️ Seven signs that a cliquish group of acquaintances is too toxic for you, while quality time with Allah the Almighty is so much better for your well-being:
1] You yourself have witnessed that many, if not all, of this group's members have a bad tendency to cowardly criticize certain individuals behind their backs and a lot of their conversations involve lousy gossip.
2] If they manage a group chat or link to an online meeting (via Zoom, Skype, Google Meet etc.), you notice that most of the members are not reliably communicative, as if they have another exclusive group chat or link where they converse with one another while you're deliberately excluded.
3] You have observed that attempting to have meaningful dialogues with most of the members of this group often makes you feel awkward and uncomfortable, because they're either clearly nervous around you, intimidated by your confidence, or simply they are incapable of comprehending your spoken language. It's obvious you're the one mostly talking while they're distracted by their phone, daydreaming, or failing at figuring out what you're saying.
4] You admit that since you're not close friends with many, if not all, of the members of this group, you don't bother visiting their Facebook walls. Several months would pass by while you remain completely uninterested in checking out their frequent status updates. After your initial discovery of their social media accounts, you realize the kind of content they regularly share can't inspire you at all to become a better Muslim.
5] Even if they've conducted a number of gatherings without you in the past, you don't feel as though you're missing out on anything because with or without them in your life there's no considerable difference. Imagine having a solo picnic at a large park while a swarm of pesky flies gather around some trash somewhere nearby. You can still enjoy the gentle breeze and beautiful scenery without obliging yourself to see what the flying insects are up to.
6] Although you've been acquainted with their names for at least three years, you still don't know enough personal details about them and the awful vibes they give off trigger uneasiness until now.
7] When speaking to any of them online or face to face, even for a few minutes, you feel as though you're just wasting time and not gaining anything valuable. It may be more beneficial to listen to ducks quack or learn new words from the dictionary than to aimlessly socialize with those who find your language incomprehensible.
✅ How to deal with cliquish groups:
1] First and foremost, maintain strong connection with Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala. The closer you are to Allah the Most Loving, the less likely you become influenced by His servants' actions and decisions.
2] Avoid getting too attached to any cliquish group and refrain from siding with one particular group against other groups.
3] Aspire to serve Only Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala. Stay away from pointless drama and arguments as much as possible.
4] Look unaffected and don't feel bothered if some cliquish groups exclude you from a meeting. Taking part in such activity isn't part of Allah's Qadr/Destiny. There's no use in whining about something which Allah the Most Wise didn't destine.
5] Patiently believe that in Jannah Paradise
Inn-sha-Allah you can enjoy better connections. Perhaps the reason why some cliquish groups reject or despise your presence is their worry that welcoming you with open arms could somehow make you appear even more "superior" to them i.e. feeling jealous of you or very insecure about themselves is what compels them to act dismissive.

Tips: Checklist To Determine If You Should Reconcile With A Former Friend Or Avoid Them For Allah's Sake

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful

🗒️ In some cases, when we've decided to quit trying to maintain friendship with an individual due to realizing how toxic or unreliable they are, we may find ourselves missing the fun times and long talks we enjoyed, or consider reconciliation so that the gifts we gave them aren't wasted. Occasionally missing a particular ex-friend isn't valid excuse for you to reconcile.
Just because you "miss" doing some sins in the past which you've repented from doesn't make it mandatory to return to them.
📝 Checklist to determine if it's better to keep moving on and refrain from considering rebuilding a detrimental connection with a person who isn't good for you (if you agree with most of these points, then continue avoiding the negative individual for Allah's sake, believing that there's a reason why Allah the Almighty decreed your disconnection in the first place):
1] You can recount at least five instances when this former "friend" did something offensive or unacceptable to you (online and offline). [    ]
2] At least two of these adjectives very much describe them: "narcissistic", "selfish", "passive-aggressive", "uncommunicative", "unpredictable", "unsupportive", "uncooperative", "unhelpful", "untruthful", "distressing" or too "sarcastic". [    ]
3] More than once when you've asked them for advice, they left your messages on "seen" mode or informed you they didn't know what to say or how to show support. [    ]
4] You can sense that they're undeniably jealous of you for some reason, or you can tell that they despise at least two of your relatives. [    ]
5] Overall your conversations are mostly awkward or disconcerting, or you feel that they don't truly understand your soul's language. [    ]
6] You can imagine that if you were neighbors, you wouldn't bother visiting them as often as you'd like because there's something about them which makes you feel very distrustful, unsafe or uneasy. [    ]
7] Even if you may miss them once in a while, you can't help but remember the unpleasant things they said or did to you and/or someone whom you care about for Allah's sake. [    ]

Tell me, would he not recognize his own horses?" They said, “Of course.” The Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "They will come with radiant faces, arms, and legs due to the traces of ablution. I will arrive at the fountain (Al-Kawthar) before them. Some people will be driven away from my fountain, just as a stray camel is driven away. I will call out: 'Come! Come!' 📖 Shaddad bin Aus RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "The best supplication for seeking forgiveness ('Sayyid-ul- Istighfaar') is to say: 'Allahumma Anta Rabbi, laa ilaaha illaa Anta, khalaqtani wa ana 'abduka, wa ana 'alaa 'ahdika wa wa'duka mastata't, a'udhu Bika min sharri maa sana't, abu'u Laka bini'matika 'alayy, wa abu'u bidhanbi faghfir lee, fa innahu la yaghfirudh-dhunooba illaa Anta. (O Allah! You are my Rabb (Lord, Cherisher and Sustainer). There is no true god except You. You (Allah) have created me, and I am Your slave, and I hold to Your Covenant as far as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge the favours that You (Allah) have bestowed upon me, and I confess my sins. Pardon me, for none but You (Allah) has the power to pardon).' He who supplicates in these terms during the day with firm belief in it and dies on the same day (before the evening), he will be one of the dwellers of Paradise; and if anyone supplicates in these terms during the night with firm belief in it and dies before the morning, he will be one of the dwellers of Paradise."

📖 'Umar Ibn Al-Khattab RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam one day when a man appeared with very white clothes and very black hair. There were no signs of travel on him and we did not recognize him. He sat down in front of the Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam and rested his knees by his knees and placed his hands on his thighs. The man said, “O Muhammad, tell me about Islam.” The Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Islam is to testify that there is no God but Allah and Muhammad (SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam) is the Messenger of Allah, to establish the prayer (Salah), to give charity (Zakaah), to fast the month of Ramadan, and to perform pilgrimage to the House if a way is possible." The man said, “You have spoken truthfully.” We were surprised that he asked him and said he was truthful. He said, “Tell me about faith.” The Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Faith (Imaan) is to believe in Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Last Day, and to believe in predestination (Qadr/Destiny) its good and its evil." The man said, “You have spoken truthfully. Tell me about excellence (Ihsaan).” The Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "(Ihsaan) Excellence is to worship Allah as if you see Him, for if you do not see Him, He surely sees you." The man said, “Tell me about the final hour.” The Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "The one asked does not know more than the one asking." The man said, “Tell me about its signs.” The Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "The slave girl will give birth to her mistress and you will see the barefoot, naked, and dependent shepherds competing in the construction of tall buildings." Then, the man returned and I remained. The Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said to me, “O 'Umar, do you know who he was?” I said, “Allah and His Messenger (SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam) know best.” The Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Verily, that was (Angel Jibreel) Gabriel who came to teach you your religion."

Tips: When To Ignore Insults, To Be The "Bigger Person", And When To Answer Back Since You're Not A Doormat

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
🗒️ The word "doormat" also refers to an overly submissive person who allows others to treat them disrespectfully either due to lack of confidence or fear of dealing with conflict. While it's commendable to be the "bigger person" when somebody treats you rudely, constantly walking away from individuals who consistently disrespect you could imply that you're okay with being disrespected as though you're devoid of self-respect.
✅ When should you talk back for Allah's sake and defend yourself, instead of staying quiet to be the "bigger person", if somebody is being obviously disrespectful towards you:
1] If you know that responding with a clever comeback would please Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala much more than if you didn't say anything. If you believe that verbal retaliation is more effective in strengthening your level of faith/Imaan than giving the silent treatment.
2] If you're being falsely accused of a wrongdoing which you don't do and the spectators who are listening happen to be your loved ones.
3] If you believe that the person who insulted you has the ability or willingness to rectify what they said, and your intention of answering back is not to embarrass them but to correct their misconception about you and to improve your connection.
4] If staying quiet when somebody belittles or mocks you leads to more negative outcomes than merits.
5] If the person has been purposely rude towards you more than three times and it's obvious that they treat others with better manners than with you. Confront them about their immature acts and inform them that if they can't display decent behavior when you're around, they must at least respect your decision to distance yourself from them.
❎ When is it wiser to ignore critics and reject invitations to pointless arguments:
1] Remain quiet and patiently ignore the person's rudeness if that's the very first time you've seen them behaving impolitely. Maybe they're struggling with some difficult circumstances or they are unaware that they acted inconsiderately.
2] If you're in a hurry to complete an important task and reacting to the offender's criticism or misbehavior is clearly time-consuming, simply gift them with your indifference or pity their bad upbringing.
3] If responding with a clever comeback or behaving rudely in return for their rudeness is precisely what the offensive individual wants. Don't give anybody who dislikes you the satisfaction of seeing you feel distressed or worried. Instead, do what you can for Allah's sake to avoid needless interactions with toxic people and let your avoidance enhance your capability of avoiding the actions which Allah the Most Wise and His noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam warned against.
