Poem: Three Common Qualities Of Close Friends, And How To Know If You're Close To Allah The Almighty

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 Three distinctive qualities that your close friends display:
Consistent - With you they frequently communicate.
Persistent - Since they love you truly for Allah's sake,
They're forgiving and don't let quarrels get in the way.
Loyal - They know you well and can defend you always.
~•~
Close friends like talking to you, not just on certain days,
And miss you a lot when for some time you've been away.
In the same way, when you love Allah, you don't just pray
The mandatory prayers but every other day
You pray Sunnah prayers that also strengthen your faith.
~•~
Close friends may sometimes argue or make serious mistakes,
But later forgive, as they can't afford lasting hate.
Similarly, when some Islamic rulings you break,
You're filled with guilt, beg Allah to pardon your mistake,
And frequent Istighfaar is a habit you maintain.
~•~
With your style, likes and dislikes, close friends love to acquaint.
When haters diss you, close friends know what to do and say.
Likewise, reading Qur'an keeps you in a tranquil state,
Learning Islam doesn't tire you but rejuvenates,
And you support the truth with the knowledge Allah gave.
~•~
You know you're near Allah when He guides you to His Way,
When He motivates you to do good deeds for His sake,
When He loves to hear your words each time you supplicate,
When He grants difficulties so past sins are erased
And you prefer Jannah, eager to see Allah's Face.
~•~
📖 Abu Huraira RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Allah the Almighty said: 'Whoever shows hostility (enmity) to a righteous friend of Mine, I have declared war upon him. My servant does not grow closer to Me with anything more beloved to Me than the obligatory duties that I have imposed upon him. My servant continues to grow closer to Me with extra good works (nawaafil deeds like praying Tahajjud and fasting Sunnah fasts) until I love him. When I love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes, and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask something from Me, I would surely give it to him. Were he to ask Me for refuge, I would surely grant it to him. I do not hesitate to do anything as I hesitate to take the soul of the believer, for he hates death and I hate to disappoint him.'"

Poem: Allah May Not Ask Us About How Much We Enjoyed Life But How We Lived Life To Worship Him

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 Since Allah the Almighty made us to worship Him,
On Judgment Day we won't be asked about worldly things.
About how much we enjoyed life we won't be questioned,
But rather how we lived to worship Allah our King,
And how well we passed Allah's tests in avoiding sins.
~•~
Allah may not ask us about how much we've eaten,
How many cities we have traveled to, how often
We went shopping and filled wardrobes with fancy garments,
But we may be asked about how we earned the income
And how kind we were with the wealth Allah has given.
~•~
Allah may not question us if our education
Led to earning degrees, impressive social standing,
And opportunities to boost one's reputation,
But we may be asked on our intention in learning
And what we did with the knowledge Allah has given.
~•~
Allah may not inquire about how much amusement
And entertainment were gained in chilling with loved ones,
But Allah may ask about intentional actions,
Decisions made, deliberately stated statements,
And if we worked hard to please Allah or His servants.
~•~
Since we won't be asked about material enjoyment,
It makes no sense to stress over what's impermanent.
Awards or credentials won't carry significance
On the Day of Judgment. What can guarantee triumph
Are faith/Imaan, righteous deeds, and sincere intentions.

📖 Ibn Mas'ud RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "The son of Adam (human being) will not be dismissed from his Lord (Allah the Almighty) on the Day of Resurrection until he is asked about five things: his life and how he lived it, his youth and how he used it, his wealth and how he earned it and how he spent it, and how he acted on his knowledge."

Poem: What It Means To Be "Pretentious" And "Unreal"

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 Five examples to depict what it means to be fake,
Pretentious and inauthentic, a toy for display,
So we ditch lousy pretense, stay real for Allah's sake,
And avoid imitating hypocrites' awful traits,
As Allah sees all, and foul hypocrisy He hates:
~•~
One: If you take selfies at the driver's seat acting
As if you drive but can't, and lack a driver's license.
Two: If you eat simple food at home yet when dining
In fine restaurants, you take photos before eating
And upload them online to upscale reputation.
~•~
Three: If you claim you don't watch films, songs you don't listen,
And you never gossip, to show you're a true Muslim,
When in fact you do them, when no human is watching.
Four: When you give out Eid gifts to specific persons
Not with kindness, but to offend those you're despising.
~•~
Five: When you take pride in your tallness and appearance,
Ignorant of the fact Allah is our God and King,
And you carry yourself with obnoxious arrogance,
Insulting this and that like your own sweat never stinks.
Unless they reform, fake people are good-for-nothing.
~•~
As Muslims, be honest and truthful for Allah's sake.
Willingly change yourself for Allah, not for His slaves,
And don't be influenced by what people do and say.
Pretending to have what you don't isn't a good trait
And it suits the hypocrites whom Allah also hates.
~•~
📖 Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "You must be truthful. Verily, truthfulness leads to righteousness and righteousness leads to Paradise. A man continues to be truthful and encourages honesty until he is recorded with Allah as a truthful person. And beware of falsehood. Verily, falsehood leads to wickedness and wickedness leads to the Hellfire. A man continues to tell lies and encourages falsehood until he is recorded with Allah as a liar."

📖 Abdullah Ibn Mas'ud RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated: Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "No one who has the weight of a seed (or atom) of arrogance in his heart will enter Paradise." Someone said, "But a man loves to have beautiful clothes and shoes." The Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "Verily, Allah is Beautiful and He loves beauty. Arrogance means rejecting the truth and looking down on the people."
In another narration, the Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "No one who has the weight of a seed of faith in his heart will enter Hellfire."

Poem: Do Good Only For Allah, And You Won't Feel Undervalued.

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 Three things to remember when you feel underrated,
Misunderstood, or by loved ones you're not supported,
So when you do good deeds or make uncommon choices
That breed critics or cause some to go "I don't get it.",
You go on, as it's for Allah, and refuse to quit:
~•~
One: Live to please Allah, not those whom He created.
When performing noble works, hope to be rewarded
By just Allah Who appreciates sincere motives.
So when you wear hijab, learn Islam, pray Tahajjud,
Await Allah's rewards. Don't expect His slaves' applause.
~•~
Two: Understand there are reasons why some won't support,
Whether they envy you or can't relate to your goals,
Or they've got their own race to win and problems to solve.
Strive for Allah. Around you the world doesn't revolve.
Real success in both worlds only Allah can bestow.
~•~
Three: Flies and worms gravitate to trash much more than gold.
Owls would rather soar at night than smell a pleasant rose.
"Not all share the same role and purpose," that you should know.
Don't be surprised if even some relatives say no
To your mission and dreams. Depend on Allah alone.
~•~
How many customers you have, by whom you're followed,
And how often you're acclaimed can't measure your true worth.
Nuh ('alaihis salaam) didn't have many fans yet Allah loves him so,
While shaytan has tons of followers around the globe
Despite having deceptive aims and being accursed.
~•~
📖 Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated that some people from the Ansaar asked Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam, and he gave them. Then they asked for charity again and he gave them. Then they asked again and he gave them until all he had was gone. The Prophet SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "If I had anything, I would not withhold it. Whoever refrains from asking others, then Allah will make him content. Whoever would be independent, then Allah will make him independent. Whoever would be patient, then Allah will make him patient. There is no gift that is better and more comprehensive than patience."

Poem: On Not Following One's Heart When Feelings Lead To Wrongs

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 For Allah's sake, with Adhkaar and Taqwa shield your heart,
That piece of flesh in your body where shaytan imparts
His vile suggestions whereby logic often departs.
Know how to control your feelings before fitna starts,
And to defeat shaytan's plots, understand how he works.
~•~
When crushing on non-mahrams, don't let lust run its course.
Lustful thoughts can lead to zina, which begets remorse.
Tame your nafs. Don't stare at crushes to keep feels controlled.
Shun needless socializing, your faith/Imaan uphold,
And fast more Sunnah fasts to enhance your self-control.
~•~
When angry, seek refuge in Allah from the accursed
shaytan who loves it when you're provoked so stress gets worse.
Anger, if left uncontrolled, can bring about the urge
To commit murder, injustice, or spread foul rumors.
Do wudhu when mad, take naps, pray, or drink water cold.
~•~
When saddened by bad news or each time trials unfold,
Recall Allah controls, joy doesn't last in this world,
And we're pushed to say Du'a when sorrow is absorbed.
Strong connection with Allah can have dilemmas solved.
So don't appease shaytan when he pleads, "Please, kill yourself."
~•~
Weird emotions felt don't need to be put into words,
Just as not every feeling must be acted upon.
What sort of feelings should we strive to hide or withhold:
Ones that distract us from our goals, or which promote wrongs,
And not acting on them protects the soul in both worlds.
