Tips: Some Lessons Learned From Attending Another Wedding

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

📝 7 Lessons learned Alhamdulillah from deciding to attend the wedding of one of our male faculty / asaatidh teachers at Wisdom Islamic School instead of cancelling going there due to waking up quite late in the morning and oversleeping (I'm usually not in a pleasant mood when I oversleep at times):

1✅ From the qualities of real friends and potential good friends is when you attempt to cancel going out to spend some time with them, they first ask if you're fully certain about your decision or try to insist that you don't cancel the outing. There is a difference between being told "Fine. Your loss.", "You're not going? Whatever. Bye!", or "You're such a liar. You said you'd be ready. Now you're flaking again." AND "But we're already preparing! We can wait for you.", "You're joking, right? It's a prank? Whether you like it or not we're still going even if we must carry you!" and "Are you sure you don't want to come? What changed your mind? You don't have enough money? It's okay! I can pay for you. My treat!" when you're about to cancel an agreement to meet up with some Muslim loved ones and acquaintances whom you're genuinely interested in befriending for Allah's sake.

2✅ When you have some idea that Inn-sha-Allah a wedding will most likely be held outdoors for instance at a park or wide open field etc. it is recommended to bring hand fans, prayer mat and umbrella.

3✅ Three likely reasons why some Muslims did not invite you directly to their wedding despite mentioning it to you via chat or face to face:

1) Maybe there were a limited number of seats reserved especially for those who are prioritized among the immediate family, relatives, classmates, colleagues and close neighbors of both the bride and groom.

2) They were probably so busy and preoccupied with the wedding preparations that they innocently forgot to include you, and you're not that memorable (no offense) to them because, let's face it, you very seldom interact with each other. And that's okay. If you were a host of an event, you'd rather invite someone whom you converse with almost everyday than to unwillingly send an invitation to somebody who chats with you once every four months or so while you're not that familiar yet with them for them to be regarded as an actual friend.

3) They assumed you were "unreachable" (perhaps you changed your contact number or social media account etc.), fasting and/or on duty that time, or they speculated you'd simply decline their invitation again just as you rejected, evidently ignored or said no to their multiple invites in the past online and offline.

"While I acknowledge the fact I don't have any grudge against so-and-so, I won't invite them to this event because there's a huge probability that Inn-sha-Allah they may only say no." more so if the place where they're currently residing in is incredibly far away from the wedding venue.

4✅ There's a special kind of joy when you attempt to be generous and helpful sincerely for the sake of Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala, particularly when you're aware of the truth that Inn-sha-Allah Allah Al-Kareem will surely multiply the barakah blessings in your life and increase you in wisdom and contentment.

5✅ If there's an important event or big gathering the next day, for instance Salat Al-'Eid or a wedding, either you sleep early so

Inn-sha-Allah you can wake up earlier with or without alarm, push yourself for Allah's sake to stay awake, or ask at least two trusted Muslims to wake you up early in case you oversleep.

6✅ Know when to ask questions to learn more about others and a variety of information worth discovering, and know when to refrain from asking potentially offensive queries to prevent misunderstandings.

7✅ One of the signs that Allah the Most Merciful loves you is guiding you and enlightening you to treat a number of Muslims well so that those individuals can regularly include you in their loving prayers/Du'a/supplications.

May Allah the Almighty immensely reward dear Umm Khawla and her husband Abu Yaminah for their admirable generosity, for accompanying us and giving us a very informative tour around various parts in Tagum city, and May Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala protect them and their loved ones at all times and grant them all the means which they require to succeed in both worlds with Allah's Mercy. Ameen.

Note: Some Reminders From An INTJ Muslimah (47)

Note: Some Lessons Learned From Attending The Wedding Of One Of My Husband's Young Relatives

 بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

🌼 Alhamdulillah. Three lessons learned to share for Allah's sake from attending the wedding of one of my husband's younger maternal cousins this morning at Al-Raddadi Suites hotel somewhere near SM Ecoland (Davao city, Southern Philippines):
1• To those who will Inn-sha-Allah become husbands and wives in the future, don't always expect your family especially your parents and other relatives to attend your wedding because one or some of them may either not be alive at that time or they have no choice but to remain in the city where they're employed in. Train yourself to trust Allah the Almighty at all times and never get emotionally attached to Allah's servants. Positively look forward to reuniting with your Muslim loved ones and friends Inn-sha-Allah in Jannah Paradise.
2• From time to time in this dunya we encounter various circumstances in which our Sabr patience and faith Imaan levels can get tested. There are more blessings and lots of benefits Inn-sha-Allah in trying to patiently observe a situation and learning to be contented than instantly assuming you're being oppressed or unjustly mistreated on purpose. For instance, since my husband was on duty at a different city and he couldn't attend the wedding, I asked one of my relatives if we can go together to the hotel and etc etc until we decided to go with taxi Alhamdulillah and then return with the car of another of our relatives without offense taken Alhamdulillah since the former arrived at the wedding late as they were asleep accordingly for some hours in the morning. As much as possible never let pride/kibr (or big ego) cause you to have unnecessary conflict with your family and loved ones. Be the first to forgive for Allah's sake and understand that not everything in this temporary dunya is bound to go exactly as how you'd like it to be. This earth is a platform of tests, not heaven or garden of eternal bliss.
3• Remind yourself that as long as Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala created you as a human being, you're not the only individual in this universe who gets tired, sleepy, worried, overwhelmed and stressed out sometimes, which is another valid reason to never envy others because all of us humans have our own set of struggles, worries and different problems to solve. Alhamdulillah I'm grateful also that we were able to enjoy again more of the flavorful dishes of sister Jannah Umm Muhammad. You're welcome to order from her whenever she's not busy with other orders. She's one of the Muslim female entrepreneurs I recommend here in the Philippines as in my opinion she tries her best Inn-sha-Allah to ensure that her cooking are halal and reach safely to the customers' destination. May Allah the Most Kind always bless her halal businesses and also bless the marriages of those Muslims who sincerely want to keep their love halal and blessed in both worlds. Ameen.

Poem: My Message To Those Who Glorify Divorce

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
📝 My comebacks to females who want divorce glorified,
And message to divorcees who often post online
Misleading "advice" to Muslim couples to despise
One's spouse if staying married can't keep one satisfied -
To those who won't solve problems but flee and cry "goodbye":
~•~
What's wrong with you? Have you forgotten the reason why
You approved that guy's proposal once upon a time?
Did you marry him for Allah or did you desire
More joys which not every human can always provide?
Mistakes can sometimes be made by humans and AI.
~•~
You claiming that "divorce is 'ibaadah" is unwise
If the man you abandoned tries his best day and night
To be a better Muslim and spouse to his wife/wives,
Eager to earn halal income so his fam can thrive
And you decide to ditch him due to kibr / foul pride.
~•~
Please, your husband is not "toxic" if once in a while
He answers you grumpily whenever he gets tired
Or if he disappoints you when he from time to time
Forgets, misinterprets or doesn't know all your likes
And dislikes, because he's a human like you, all right.
~•~
Glorifying divorce is like showing strange delight
When competing athletes give up before they arrive
At the finish line as they were too preoccupied
With wanting better footwear or fighting pesky flies.
You're a loser if you romanticize kibr/pride.
~•~
What? You never loved your former spouse enough to try
To reconcile, find ways to ensure your love survives
Much longer, with patience, than cobwebs, nests and beehives,
And to empathize with him, stay firm when criticized,
And recall his gifts so his good traits are magnified?
~•~
A marriage is not "loveless" or "toxic", please don't lie,
If the spouses debate and disagree oftentimes.
It's fine if some loved ones and true friends argue sometimes.
If there were no quarrels, no one could apologize,
No one would have the chance to forgive and reunite.
~•~
Marriages free from arguments could also imply
The couples are robots devoid of feelings and spice,
Or they're actors constantly acting with contrived smiles.
Divorce mostly adds stress and remorse; it's not designed
For those whose love for Allah's sake is larger than pride.

The closest to him in rank are the greatest at causing tribulations (mischief, trouble). One of them says: 'I have done this and this.' shaytan says: 'you have done nothing.' Another one says: 'I did not leave this man alone until I separated him from his wife.' shaytan embraces him and he says: 'you have done well!'"
