💌 The man whom Allah the Most Wise chose for you
as your destined husband and soulmate may not necessarily be the most handsome
of all men, he probably doesn't have many similar qualities with you or his
personality type could be your exact opposite, but one thing for certain is
that Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala selected your spouse for a special reason - to
help complete or perfect your Deen through improving in piety, increasing in
Taqwa, being trained to practice Sabr/patience and Shukr/gratitude effectively,
preferring Jannah Paradise over your nafs and desires as well as this temporal
life, while accepting Allah's Qadr/Destiny in choosing you to be your husband's
faithful, patient and grateful wife.
While you didn't get to choose who your ideal husband is,
Allah gave you the freewill and ability to ensure that your marriage life turns
into a blissful journey to Jannatul Ferdaus. Instead of complaining about why
your husband isn't 100% perfect, why he isn't as good-looking or as wealthy as
your friend's spouse, or why you don't get to see each other as often as you
liked, try to look at the bright side, appreciate your husband's positive
qualities, cherish loving memories together, help each other do what you can to
be worthy of Jannah's entry, and actually put effort into educating one another
more about Islam, reminding each other of the virtues of patience and how
eternal bliss and perfection are only found in Jannah which is sufficient to
motivate you to patiently keep striving.
📖 Anas Ibn Malik RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated:
Allah's noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, “Whoever
Allah provides with a righteous wife, Allah has assisted him in half of his
religion. Let him fear Allah regarding the other half.”
