💌 Many of the enemies of the noble
Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam happened to be his own uncles and
cousins. They hated the Messenger SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam for calling
others to Allah's Way and for speaking the truth. Prophet Ibrahim 'alaihis
salaam struggled with a disbelieving father, Prophet Nuh 'alaihis salaam with a
disbelieving son, and Prophet Lut 'alaihis salaam with a troublesome wife. Sa'd
Ibn Abi Waqqas RadhiAllahu 'anhu left his polytheist mother and brother because
he preferred Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala and His noble Messenger Muhammad
SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam. Abu Ubaydah Ibn Al-Jarrah RadhiAllahu 'anhu had
to fight against his own polytheist father eventually killing him even though
he tried his best to avoid striking him at the Battle of Badr, supporting Allah
the Almighty and His noble Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam. Umm
Habiba, also known as Ramla Bint Abi Sufyan RadhiAllahu 'anha, refused to let
her own father sit on the mattress of the Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi
wa sallam out of respect for her husband and disrespect for one who preffered
polytheism that time before Abi Sufyan Ibn Harb, one of the Prophet's worst
enemies back then, eventually embraced Islam after the opening of Makkah.
Just because Allah the Almighty decreed that you and some people be connected
by blood doesn't necessarily mean you will always get along and agree on the
same things. Sometimes your own family and relatives go against you when
they're jealous of your achievements, feel insecure around you or they can't
come to terms with your values. Still it is our obligation to maintain good
connection with our relatives whenever we can.
Staying in
touch with our relatives doesn't necessitate that we add them as
"friends" on Facebook or comment on each other's posts often, but we
treat them with general courtesy and good manners, respond to their salaams,
answer their invitations, offer financial support whenever necessary, and leave
the doors to our forgiveness wide open.
Instead of running after those defiant relatives who blocked you online, remain patient for Allah's sake and be strong enough to include them in your Du'as from time to time. Don't instantly give up on praying to Allah that He guides them to the right path.

If Allah
the Almighty was able to guide Khalid Ibn Al-Waleed, 'Umar Ibn Al-Khattab, Abi
Sufyan, Salman Al-Farsi and Wahshi RadhiAllahu 'anhum to Islam after many
years, Allah the Most Merciful can also soften the hearts of your relatives and
grant them guidance when He wants. Allah is the One Who guides people. Your
duty is to invite others to Allah's Way without forcing anyone to correct their
state.
Rather than feeling bad about those who dislike you for advising them to do the right thing, redirect your energy into appreciating those Muslims who share your goals, insight and mission.

Since
Allah's Justice and Mercy work in mysterious ways, there will come a time when
the people who abandoned you may regret leaving you and could actually benefit
from your presence. Have the courage to forgive them for Allah's sake when they
come back to you, as a striving Muslim.
📖 Abu Huraira RadhiAllahu 'anhu narrated
that a person said: "O' Allah's Messenger, I have relatives with whom I
try to have close relationship with but they cut off ties. I treat them well,
but they treat me badly. I am good to them but they are harsh towards me."
Upon this the Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said: "If it
is so as you say, then it is as if you are throwing hot ashes (upon them) and
there would always remain with you on behalf of Allah (an Angel to support you)
who would keep you dominant over them so long as you adhere to this (path of
righteousness)."
