💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 This is why we must please only Allah, not people:
Some of them dislike you when you’re unrelatable,
When not acquainted enough, you’re unapproachable,
Yet when common goals and shared features are plentiful,
They feel threatened, competitive, jealous, distrustful.

Those who claim they’re your friends are fine seeing you succeed,
Yet once you show you’re better, some are quick to envy.
Some enjoy discussing their lives and feats constantly,
Eager to receive “congrats!” from friends and family,
Yet when it’s your turn to shine, they sulk with jealousy.
~•~
If you talk about yourself, some think you’re self-obsessed,
Yet when it comes to the awesome things they have and did,
Permission to discuss themselves is unlimited.
While your skills and success make them jealously upset,
They expect your praise when at something they’ve succeeded.
~•~
If you’re quiet, you’re boring to some. Others - just fine,
As long as you’ll hear them brag about their awesome life.
If you’re talkative and often like to speak your mind,
Some regard you as attention-seeking or unkind,
Yet others require you to chat more to be more liked.

People-pleasing is a burden Muslims shouldn’t take.
So long as we strive to obey Allah for His sake,
It’s not a problem if some souls depart or forsake
Us, each one searching for a difference they can make.
Aim for Allah’s Love sincerely, not His slaves’ acclaim.

📖 Aisha RadhiAllahu ‘anha narrated: Allah’s noble Messenger Muhammad SallAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, “Whoever seeks the pleasure of Allah by the displeasure of people, Allah will suffice him against the people. Whoever seeks the pleasure of people by the displeasure of Allah, Allah will leave him to the patronage of the people.”
